Description: Bistro 29 located in downtown Santa Rosa, Sonoma County. Bistro 29 is a traditional bistro specializing in “Breton” regional cuisine. The number 29 comes from the department of Finistère (end of the earth) located in the upper tip of north-west France. Known for the Galette de blé noir (traditional buckwheat crêpe) and sweet crêpes, Bretagne also uses a variety of local seafood and produce that can easily be found in and around northern California.

The owners, Brian and Françoise are amazing. They welcome you to their family when you walk in. Fortunate for us they offer a special for locals that allows us to sample great food from Brittany. The buckwheat crepes are superb and great for a post movie sup. There is a nice selection of wine by the glass that covers both... More

Santa Rosa residents are very lucky to have this little pearl straight from Paris tucked away in downtown. Friendly service, good prices, excellent and authentic food including real French bread.

I am very surprised because their dishes look Real French… no wonder the owner chef is French and keeping the genuine quality. This place became our favorite dinner place when we visit Sonoma County. Their dishes – escargots, scallops, even steaks… all French style and impressive.

We[5] enjoyed our meal & service on Feb 22 . I can echo the review by miles c of San Diego. However, a vintner from the area dining with us, thought the corkage fee high. Would definitely return.

Delightful little restaurant on a side street in Santa Rosa, CA. Only 14 tables, but each brings you a little bit of France. The food and the staff are excellent. The wine list is very reasonable offering both French and local wines. The house specialty is creeps - both savory and dessert. The entrees are wonderful - lamb, Daube of... More

This was a disappointment, pretty much from the start of our evening. We went on a Thursday night with another couple. 2 of us ordered the prix fixe meal at $29 each; the other orders were a crepe and a fish dish. The soup came to the table barely lukewarm - apparently it was supposed to be hot, so both... More

My wife and I and friends dined at the Bistro 29 on Feb. 22, 2014. The appointment of the Bistro is austere but warm. The staff were very courteous and efficient. I had the duck, which was excellent and my wife had the mussels, which were excellent also. We brought our own bottle of wine and the corkage fee was... More

Had a wonderful fixed price dinner here last night. Reasonably priced and absolutely superb service. The waiter was so attentive and made us feel like we really mattered, a rare experience these days. Each course was great and he was willing to let us substitute a dessert even though we had the fixed price meal! Can't say enough. A must... More

The photo is verey accurate. The restaurant is small, and possibly a little loud, the service was very good, the atmosphere casual and pleasant, the food was off the charts excellent. Between us we had four entrees, two appetizers, and two deserts, all of which were flawless. I had a braised lamb shank that was as good as any meal... More

Thanks to the other good reviews on Tripadvisor we chose to have dinner at Bistro 29 during our stay in Santa Rosa over the thanksgiving weekend. We were not disappointed. The Daube of beef was cooked perfectly resulting in a very rich flavour and the steak-frites was excellent. Naturally being a french restaurant desert must include crepes and the combination... More
