Description: Bistro 29 located in downtown Santa Rosa, Sonoma County. Bistro 29 is a traditional bistro specializing in “Breton” regional cuisine. The number 29 comes from the department of Finistère (end of the earth) located in the upper tip of north-west France. Known for the Galette de blé noir (traditional buckwheat crêpe) and sweet crêpes, Bretagne also uses a variety of local seafood and produce that can easily be found in and around northern California.

this is a small intimate place that offers great food ( try the scallops) and specials such as their $29.00 three course meals ( check for days offered) and happy hour. They have local sourced food and great wines. It is well worth taking a look and I promise you will enjoy every bite!

The Vintners Inn recommended Bistro 29 for dinner and we're very glad they did! Bistro 29 is small, quaint and perfect! We love Bistros like this. From the moment we entered, we were treated as though we were special. Zack, our waiter was excellent, as well as the entire staff. All were friendly, professional and attentive. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves... More

We have been to Bistro 29 about 6-7 times this summer, and we go on a Tuesday thru Thursday, when their special three course dinners are just $29 !! This week we had a special chicken dish, plus salad and dessert. Last week the feature was Filet. This is a cute little restaurant (seats maybe 40, plus a few at... More

I love the food here, duck confit is amazing, actually everything I've tried here is delicious! I would highly recommend this eatery for the francophiles out there.

Had a nice meal here. We had one steak entree, a chicken entree, and two crepes. They were all good. I would go back if in the area.

Bistro 29 was our choice before a concert at Sonoma State. Though the service was helpful, the food was merely okay. The gazpacho special as an appetizer was very good, but the petrale sole was not. My sweetbreads - which I often order at a French restaurant - were okay, but not outstanding. Coffee - in presse - was mediocre,... More

Bistro 29 is one of those gems that you wouldn't notice, driving by it. Picture an unassuming French bistro transplanted to Santa Rosa, CA. A wide selection of meals, and the quality is always superb. Wine selection is delightfully matched to the cuisine, which ranges from the seafood and savory or sweet buckwheat crepes of Bretagne in the north, to... More

About once a year we are in Santa Rosa and dine at Bistro 29. We have eaten there 4 times over the years and, remarkably, IT KEEPS GETTING BETTER! Last night we had meals that were PERFECTLY prepared! My wife had the lamb shank with desert of the Carmel/Toffee Cake (?). I had the Steak and Frites with a sweet... More

I've been here three times. All three experiences were very good. Friendly, prompt service. Menu has a wide variety. Appropriately priced. I'll be back.

My wife and I went to B29 last night to celebrate our 15th anniversary. I made a point of checking out the restroom; it was perfectly clean. Now to the rest of our report. My wife loves butter lettuce and had that salad, which she loved. She particularly liked the dressing. I love French onion soup and theirs was very... More
