I speak Japanese to Gary at the bar. If you love good food and don't care about the price GO HERE! I love uni, caviar, black truffles, truffle oil, pork belly, lobster, kobe beef, and I only eat sashimi nigiri.

After a morning of shopping at nearby Montgomery Village, we decided we needed sushi. Osake did not disappoint. The restaurant has been given a fresh coat of paint and new carpet has been laid since my last visit. Osake looks fresh and inviting. Our waitress was a delight. We began with 2 sorts of Nigiri sushi followed by delicious gyoza.... More

I was lucky enough to dine at Osake twice last week, lunch on Wednesday and dinner on Saturday. I thoroughly enjoyed both experiences. The Chicken Teriyaki was delicious; I was given a generous portion and it comes with a small salad, broth, and rice. When I eat sushi, I enjoy the Rock and Roll; my friend loves the Pink Lady... Service was friendly and attentive but slow for a Monday night. Sushi was good, but I was not blown away by the food.

Over the years I have eaten in a number of good Japanese restaurants. Dining in one of these is a matter of both good ethnic food and special atmosphere. Neither was present here. The venue was only slightly Japanese in nature and the tables are closely spaced and the noise level is too high for a pleasant dinner. The prawn... More

Somehow this restaurant got a 27 from zagat - do not understand that rating. Very average - fish not that fresh.

We had a very nice experience at Gary Chu's Japanese restaurant. Food was superb, and with Gary, himself, behind the bar it was enjoyable as well. Nice wine list, atmosphere, and plenty of parking. The Utah Roll was excellent, and other dishes were nice as well. We will go back the next time we want a sushi experience.

and now they are selling the sauce for them in a bottle! It is amazing and wonderful how they get them crisp, and not over done with the sauce that you want to lick off everything so it does not go to waste! Oh,, and the carburetor roll is one of the best I have ever had.. loaded with crab... More

Although Gary is Chinese he does a fantastic job preparing good Japanese food. His blend of Asian fusion with Japanese flair is outstanding. Bring extra cash as their prices are hefty. Portions are small but presentation is excellent. Pretty good sake selections.
