Great service, friendly and helpful. Great food with good portions. The food was a little less spicy than we expected for Cajun, but delicious. The beignets, French donuts, were awesome.

We rarely venture out to Santa Paula, but found this cute little place for Sunday Brunch. We started with Mimosas made of freshly squeezed orange juice and a plateful of Beignets that were hot and flavorful. Not quite like Cafe du Monde in New Orleans, but were a nice treat. The Fried Green Tomatoes were tasty and crispy, accompanied with... More

I think I have a new favorite place in Santa Paula! My husband and I camped near Santa Paula for years and knew every restaurant on Main Street. Years went by with no camping trips involved so we lost touch with the goings on there. When we found ourselves in town this weekend, after a long absence, we gave Rabalais... More

Great desserts, great food, friendly staff. Beautiful building. Whenever I think of a pleasant place to go and have some coffee with a friend or my sisters, I always suggest Rabalais.

My husband ate there 3 times in a 24 period & we dined as a family (us & our granddaughter) twice, a takeout dinner & breakfast....this is extremely authentic & we speak from experience as we have traveled extensively in Louisiana. The grits were thick & creamy, the spices were subtle & tasty on my Bayou Benedict. The gumbo....yum! And... More

Santa Paula is one of those towns I've driven through a hundred times but rarely stopped. This time we went to the California Oil Museum there and discovered Rabalais Bistro for lunch. It's New Orleans menu seems a little strange for this solid farming community, but people have discovered it. It is located in the middle of the downtown area... More

My husband and I had a very nice breakfast at this Bistro. The weather was perfect to dine outside and we we joined by other customers who had their furry side kicks. I had their Plantation Poach which was a poached egg on a bed of sauté onions and spinach topped with Cajun hollandaise sauce and a side of Creole... More

I've been here several times now when visiting Santa Paula and we've enjoyed it each time! The food is really good. Have had a shrimp po' boy, croque madame, and an omelet (on different occasions of course)! The croque madame was a ham sandwich with a fried egg and so good!! Their portion sizes are very generous (I have yet... More

Ventura County and its restaurants are fairly marginal no matter what the "food critics" write in the various free newspapers/magazines to promote tourism. Santa Paula isn't exactly known as a gourmet food mecca. . . or a mecca of much of anything. Driving down the main street on a Sunday at brunch time was depressing until we saw Rabalais Bistro....
