We have been to Rabalais now on 4 different occasions and have been thrilled with the food and the service every time! We used to fly to Seattle for the best Seafood chowder but no more! Now we drive 11 miles and get a cup or bowl of the best chowder chock full of shrimp, clams and other goodies!! We... More

Who knew you could find the tastes and ambience of New Orleans in the countryside of Ventura County? Beignets, gumbo, shrimp and grits, fried green tomatoes, Po' Boys, Andouille sausage, croque monsieur, Louisiana BBQ, plus soups and salads - it's all here and delicious! Decorated with Southern charm with the inevitable music in the background, Rabalais Bistro and Bakery is... More

Rabalais' is a wonderful alternative to all the Mexican restaurants in the area (not that there is anything wrong with Mexican, just that you might want something else). Rabalais features tasty Cajun treats and has a bakery next door, to boot! The soups that we tried (Gumbo and Mushroom) and the Beet salad made great appetizers. The main courses, the... More

The food was great. Hard to find good Cajun food in California. I will be coming back here. Service as a drop slower then I'd like but food made up for it.

A group of four decided to have breakfast at Rabalais and we were glad that we did. The atmosphere reminded me of New Orleans, had that NOLA vibe down pat. Our wait person had a great personality and didn't rush us since we had a lot to catch up on. Three of us ordered coffee drinks; chicory coffee, cappuccino and... More

I've been here several times for lunch, and it's always been packed, so people must like it, but I've always been disappointed with the food. Then definitely need to use better ham.

Really great baked goods, especially the pies. I will return just to order pies for the holidays. I especially loved the music and decor.

We had a really nice breakfast here. We had the biscuits and gravy, which had some of the best red-eye gravy I have had- rich & meaty, full of sausage and not too spicy. The french toast was a enormous portion and also very good. But the capper was the fabulous beignets, of which I have to admit I ate... More

Great service, friendly and helpful. Great food with good portions. The food was a little less spicy than we expected for Cajun, but delicious. The beignets, French donuts, were awesome.

We rarely venture out to Santa Paula, but found this cute little place for Sunday Brunch. We started with Mimosas made of freshly squeezed orange juice and a plateful of Beignets that were hot and flavorful. Not quite like Cafe du Monde in New Orleans, but were a nice treat. The Fried Green Tomatoes were tasty and crispy, accompanied with... More
