Amazing atmosphere, average food.

First of all, being on Santa Monica Pier, the atmosphere was buzzing, and the waitress that served us was lovely - and gave us great advice on what to order. We had the prawns which were OK but not what you'd expect from such a famous restaurant. It is a great location for children and well worth... read more

If you like shrimps here you can eat every kind of them, as bubba said. The atmosphere is amazing and you should go there just to experience it. The price is pretty high for the kind of restaurant but the service is really good.

We were a group of 150 mostly high school band students and their chaperones. Everyone had pre-ordered from a limited menu and was given cards with their orders on them. We were taken to two rooms that sat us all and they immediately took drink orders and served appetizers. The wait staff was very attentive and even played Forrest Gump... More

Our visit to Bubba Gumps started as we would expect. There was a 45 minute wait on the very busy pier. No worries. How often do you get to wait to be seated with views like that?!? My husband and I had been to Bubba Gumps in Hawaii before so we knew going in that it would probably be a... More

Don't miss this restaurant, they have terrific seafood! It's very crowded and you will need to make a reservation for next available timeslot for a visit in the restaurant, so be prepared to wait for at least half an hour or so. The food were great, we all enjoyed it much, though the service were both good and poor. When... More

This restaurant is loud and fun so perfect for s family everyone is welcome and the menu is fast enough to be able to cater to everyone. Recommend you try the platter to allow you to sample a few varieties of shrimp.

We decided to go to Bubba Gump's for lunch. It was very, very busy, however we were seated within 20 minutes. The waitress, Hailey, was friendly, funny, and efficient. She made our experience even better. Her interaction with our 15 year old and attention to his humor was appreciated. She deserves a raise and a promotion! The food was good,... More

This is a very busy place, but we decided to eat at the bar and later decided to grab a table in the bar section. The staff in the bar was amazing! They don't just have shrimps: I had the ribs, and they were probably the best ribs I've ever had! My wife did have shrimps, and she really liked... More

We read the reviews and thought we would give it a try given we don't get to eat really fresh seafood a lot living in a landlocked Canadian province. The wait time (20 minutes) was reasonable and the staff very friendly, if not vague about Canada when we replied to where we lived...do kids study maps in the US? The... More

We visited the restaurant with 4 children and 5 adults. We had spent the afternoon on the pier with the children taking in the various rides and games (Ferris Wheel/Roller Coaster etc). The restaurant offers fish, lobster, shrimp and chicken. My wife and I shared a dish of Mahi Mahi. The fish was excellent. The portions are large so it... More

Staying in Santa Monica

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
