Really nice food and great value. Staff are good too

We had a lite lunch here, ordering minestrone soup which was nice, served with garlic pull apart bread. Sat outside in the pedestrian mall area and enjoyed. Great value too.

Looking for a place to eat dinner on a saturday night, my wife and I came across Johnnie's on 3rd street. We stopped to look at the menu (which is posted outside and included pictures) and decided to give it a try. We are so glad we did!! My wife had spaghetti and I had lasagna and they were both... We were thirsty so we stopped to have a beer and a small snack. Neither were worth it. The staff was slow but friendly. We ordered garlic knots they were old, cold and had no garlic on them. They seemed to have been baked earlier in the day or even the day before. Not worth the $8.95 price. We should... More

Went on a Saturday night, was busy and had no booking but they found a spot for us. Great service and great food. Great location as its on the promenade where you can do lots of people watching and enjoy the entertainment of the street buskers, would definitely go back again!!

If you are looking for authentic rustic Tuscan food your in the wrong place or you are stupid. It's a good pizza place for lunch, nothing more. Very good pizza, no complaints. Nothing more than you would expect on the 3rd street prom.

Food was mediocre and over-priced. It took at least 5-7 minutes to get the waiter to come to the table to greet us. Waiter was not very friendly and suggested his own tip on the check. Nothing was horrible, but we will not be coming back.

Family friendly outdoor seating. Service was good. Location was great (central to shopping and people watching). Food was just adequate. We ate three different salads and paid handsomely for them. The goat cheese salad was the best of the bunch.

We ate at Johnnies twice and whilst it is not the most opulent of establishments inside, the food and in particular the pizza's are really really good and all at a very reasonable price. I would highly recommend for families wanting good food, good value in no frills surroundings. The service is good too and the waiters are very friendly... More

Staying in Santa Monica

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
