So I am a Dutch girl/woman who had a basically horrible two weeks in good old LA. After a little trip to Whole Foods I decided I needed a drink and stepped into this Irish pub. Right away I was cheerfully greeted ( but not the fake way ) by the owner Willy, and as I sat at the bar... More

Walked in after having a craving for decent fish'n'chips with my ex. Sat down and was eagerly waited on by a girl who appeared to be a very smiley, yet clueless 13 year old. The owner/manager/? was sat at the bar eating and vaguely checking on the state of the bar. We got water and waited 10 minutes in a... More

My wife and I stumbled onto O'Brien's and decided to have something different in Santa Monica. We were not disappointed with the food and atmosphere. I had the Bangers and Mash while my wife had the Fish and Chips. The Bangers were a couple of Irish sausages on a bed of mashed potatoes and steamed veggies. I really like the... More

My boss and I stopped here after having maybe 1-2 toi many the night before and this place still took care of us. The next day we went back and they were still as awesome as the night before. The owner is a great guy, as well as the BEAUTIFUL bartender, Dominique! One of the best Irish pubs I've been... More

Place had free parking - unheard of in Santa Monica, lots of craft brews and HUGE portions. I snacked off the remains for two days.

This place overcharges for drinks, bouncers are thugs ready for a fight, shady owners, overpriced drinks, negative vibe, and don't expect to see any good music there, the word has gotten out that they stiff their bands (no matter what the bar says). So only the lamest of musical acts would ever be heard there. No band worth hearing would... More

I had the Cobb salad and the waitress was great about my request to swap the iceburg lettuce with darker greens. Not a good salad, though. Awesome atmosphere, good beer selection. Fun place.

This place left a bad taste. They tried to overcharge us. Our first round for three pints cost $14, the next round for same drinks cost $19 while barmaid was on phone and could not even be bothered to offer us our $1 change. When questioned she said she was stressed and also was training somebody else,(lie). it was a... More

Staying in Santa Monica

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
