One of the best places on MAIN ST!

amazing dishes and they have great craft beers on tap. its tough on seating just because its crowded all the time. outstanding fish + chips! this place is a santa monica classic and is still kicking! must have the ahi burger and sit on the back patio if you can. HIGHLY recommended!

Where else can you taste a flight of stouts and porters? Brilliant beer selection and really helpful staff. We really enjoyed it.

Okay - let me get the complaint first. We were seated in a dark corner and couldn't see our food as we ate. The brightly lit corner was allegedly "reserved" yet no one showed up. Okay back to the food. The salsa brought out to the table was fresh and delicious. Great beer selection. Lots of local choices. We ordered... More

Stopped at the Alehouse while visiting with my son over Thanksgiving who works close to their location. It is a weekly visit for my son and after our stop, it’s easy to see why. The atmosphere was pleasant, the service timely and the food attractive and well-seasoned. I had the Chicken Cob Salad and my wife had the Asparagus Frites.... More

I love this place on main St Santa Monica. My good friend first took me here around 8 years ago at which time I tasted my first Ahi burger. This bar has a cool vibe and some good beers on tap. I made a point of visiting a couple of times with my partner and our friends on this last... More

Went here early evening mid week and the place was packed, managed to snag a table, lots of people after us waiting for tables Waiting staff were so relaxed and friendly and discussed our options for all of the craft beers on tap, sports on the TVs didn't disturb us while we chatted We all ordered burgers and they were... We went on a Sunday night and was served by the American blonde girl who use to live in Worcester (England). The bar had a nice atmosphere and was very busy, and it was immaculately clean and the decor was very good. Even though we only drank there it seemed very busy with people coming to dine.

There are so many choices for dining in Santa Monica so there's no need to go back to someplace that's mediocre or less. Library Alehouse is a place we'd go back to in a heartbeat. Luckily we got in just before the big crowds showed up on a Friday night so we were able to be seated quickly in the... More

Was solo in Santa Monica for the evening and stopped by for a beer and to check out the baseball game (Mets vs Cubs) while figuring out what to do for dinner. I ended up sitting at the bar for the entire game. Extensive selection of craft beers and interesting dinner menu made it impossible to leave. Fun atmosphere and... More

Admittedly I stopped here for the great CA microbrews on tap but the food looked awesome too. The tap list did not disappoint and they patio out back was a great hideaway. Friendly service. Not good for kids. Street parking or there is a public lot across the road on Kinney where it's only $1/hour! Definitely worth a stop for... More

Staying in Santa Monica

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
