Very authentic!

Stopped in for a quick lunch. Enjoyed carne asada and al pastor soft tacos- side of tasty guacamole- served with more chips than two people can consume. Tacos composed of two small corn tortillas with the meat, fish, or vegetarian selection and salsa, onion and cilantro. Great salsa bar with salsa... read more

The restaurant itself is not fancy at all, but the food is always good. Prices are reasonable. I love their chicken dishes and breakfast burritos.

This taqueria is what LA Mexican food is about. The location is away from downtown Santa Monica and it is reflected in the reasonable pricing of the menu. I had a burrito chili verde that I could have easily split, but it was just sitting there so I ate the whole thing. It had large, tender pieces of pork that... More

an unintentionally ironic third world space on a transitional santa monica boulevard corner, near the woodlawn cemetary. order takers are often sullen and surly probably because they are overworked and underpaid and the clientele is mostly gringos...but just pleasant enough to appear faceless. you order and they call your number for your food. quality is better than most places of... I grew up in Los Angeles and, in my young adult years, on food from Tacos Por Favor. As a result, it's really hard to please me with Mexican food. This is authentic, fresh, healthy, and delicious. If you're watching your pennies, you can easily fill up (and almost make two meals) out of a huge veggie burrito or a... More

I visit this place at least once per week, either for a breakfast burrito or the shrimp burrito. Food is always great and service is always fast. Highly recommend the salsa verde. I haven't tried much else, but none of the friends who I've taken have ever complained.

Came here on a Wednesday night. Ordered the ceviche & a fish taco. The fish taco was good--not the best I've ever had, but solid nonetheless. The ceviche, however, was truly excellent--served in a super-tsty tomato & citrus sauce and topped w/ avocado. Worth a visit if you want good "hole in the wall" Mexican.

We go here at least once a month. The carne asada burrito keeps calling to me - it's so good. My husband gets tacos and I always sneak a bite. Great salsa bar. The outside looks sketchy, but it's the food you are going for. Sometimes the counter staff doesn't want to deal with you, but I know they are... More

Staying in Santa Monica

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
