Nice breakfast menu.

The food is good. The service was pretty bad. It's a good place for lunch if you have time. The coffee was good and the portions are decent. I recommend the Acai bowl.

We started off with a couple of gluten-free muffins that were just wonderful. We all then had a really good dragon fruit drink. The main courses were also wonderful. Two of us had different egg-white omelets and the third had a breakfast burrito. Coffee was just right. The service was excellent.

We stopped by for a coffee. Only 3 people in front of us and it took us 10 minutes to place our order. It took the red headed lady behind the counter 10 minutes to make 3 drinks for the customers in front of us. 2 people behind us walked out because they didn't want to wait anymore. We finally... My eggplant goat cheese sandwich was incredible and the side salad was amazing various greens, broccoli, cukes, grated carrot balsamic vinaigrette (homemade) I had to bring the salad home too much for me to eat which was wonderful. My husband had the fries as his side and they were great seasoned YUM! Just driving by so stopped in. Priced competitively... More

Great start to our Californian road trip. Good filter coffee, healthy juice and beautiful fruit salad. Sat outside on a glorious morning and enjoyed friendly service.

Loved the mexican sauces! Both my wife and I had mexican style eggs, she chilaquiles and i huevos rancheros and this was by far the best mexican style food we had in Santa Monica. Great beverages too!

My husband and I had been biking along Santa Monica/Venice Beach for the morning and stumbled across Novel Cafe when we were looking for a place to eat lunch. It was just wonderful. They had an extensive menu, and both of our meals were not only super tasty but healthy too. They offer free wi-fi for anyone who eats there,... More

My husband and I and our two grown sons just finished dining at The Novel Cafe on Main Street in Santa Monica. I could not wait to get back home to write this review. Not only was the food absolutely delicious and the service exeptional, the portions are extremely generous. But wait, it gets even better!! Mimi, the owner is... More

The food here is on the healthy side. Yes, they have hamburgers and fries, and also have 100% whole wheat bread. I had a small Caesar salad, and it was wonderful: fresh with bits of tomato and croutons with very fresh tasting romaine lettuce, and a good Caesar dressing. The turkey sandwich was ample, although seemed to missing something, maybe... More

The coffee was very good. The service was friendly. The location is excellent. Right off Santa Monica Boulevard. The patio, has beautiful flowers and climbing flowering vines.

Staying in Santa Monica

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
