First visit to Santa Monica and we chose this restaurant because of its location and because we wanted to eat seafood. Like some other reviewers I thought that it was linked to The Ivy in London, but some googling showed otherwise. We were greeted with a complimentary glass of sparkling white wine which was a nice gesture. Our table was... More

Perfect food, exceptional service! Last time I visited this Santa Monica icon wAs over 25 years ago....and I was not disappointed with my return! We were greeted with a complimentary glass of champagne, and then seated at a perfect table with a view. We tried the shrimp tacos, and the sword fish tacos- both perfectly prepared. Huge portions! We ordered... More

Went here for Easter brunch with the extended family, they have multiple large round tables that are great for groups. They also have a covered patio that is great to watch a sunset from. They have reasonable Valet right out front with validation. It was $300 total with tip for brunch with 7 people including drinks. Worth the $$ great... More

Imagine sitting in a restaurant with a glorious view of the Pacific Ocean and the Santa Monica pier. Now, imagine your significant other is sitting across the table looking fabulous. And, to cap it off the very attentive wait staff assists you in making the perfect selection for lunch. What more can I say. The food and service are unparalleled.... More

Aparently the only similarity between this Ivy Restaurant and the one in London is the name. We had high expectations but the only good part of the experience was the greeting at the door. Food over priced for what it is. Service poor (might of just been our waiter who was from the UK). Struggled to read the menu as... More

First class from start to finish. From the service to the china to the menu and complimentary champagne glass to start and cookies to finish off. We opened withe artichoke, which is to die for. Even three kids enjoyed the experience. Highly recommend this local gem.

Gourmet excellent food, intimate fun softly lit atmosphere, excellent service. Crab cakes are the best in US. Gourmet fish and chips creates a whole new meaning to the term. Wide selection of types of food. Prices are high end but fair. Portions are generous, high end vintage wine prices a real value as owner bought much early. Ocean side Patio... More

In spite of its comfortable ambiance, this restaurant failed to deliver at a quality level commensurate with its pricing. All three meals were a disappointment--two Kobe beef dinners that tasted old and we're both overlooked. The third meal was lobster and linguine and it consisted of a large shell (for show) with only a fraction of the original lobster used... More

Staying in Santa Monica

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
