Perfect sunny day in Spring for seafood

Excellent location and very easy to park, even at Friday lunchtime (parking lots are a dollar an hour right next to the restaurant). Business was booming today - not surprisingly as Santa Monica was at its picturesque best - sunny, warm with a light breeze. The food is perfectly fresh - a menu... read more

Great calamari (get it spicy with jalapenos!), oysters, and several other tasty appetizer specials at happy hour, along with several wines, beers and cocktails. Do it, you won't regret it.

A lovely restaurant, a block away from the beach that serves a very wide variety of fish dishes. At weekends, it's advisible to book as it does get very busy and you may have to wait a while otherwise. We have not been for some years before our visit last month but it was still as good as ever. If... More

Very good and fresh seafood in a trendy location and fairly priced...but the service was very poor. The restaurant as 20% full, big place, we waited 8 minutes after seating and then had to flag down a server who said " oh, no one told me you were here" no apology and took orders and delivered food. He did not... More

I dined here solo on a Saturday night in February while in town for a business meeting. I wanted fresh fish while in town, did some yelp and tripadvisor research and felt this would fit my needs. I took a 5 min cab ride from my hotel and arrived about 6:30pm, still in time for happy hour (on a saturday,... More

Unfortunately for this nice looking place.... NOT FRESH. It tasted so frozen and old. Its a great location and nice looking interior but the food all has the same taste and nothing special to it. Unfortunate.

Years ago I ate at their Santa Barbara location, and I remember that experience fondly. I suppose times have changed. Their yummy sourdough bread is only brought to the table upon request. I understand, too many patrons were wasting it. And I understand the drought meaning water has to be requested, also. I ordered the prawns, and was expecting some... More

The food was very well prepared and tasty. Great outside seating to enjoy the weather. Biggest negative was difficulty finding a parking spot. Our waitress was friendly, but got distracted with friends a couple of times.

This is a great place for group lunches. They offer a nice variety of seafood dishes at a moderate price. As part of the entree you have a choice of two sides. Try the swordfish with grilled vegetables and bake potatoe. The fish is cooked to perfection and the vegetables crisp. The server was attentive and friendly. We were celebrating... More

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
