We enjoyed our dinner here. The food was fresh although the portions are small and it's a fairly pricey dinner out. We enjoyed the dishes we ordered except the ceviche. It was not traditional ceviche and the sauce on it wasn't very good. We loved the little churros - the person who makes those does a very good job. It's... More

We went here instead of Mercado due to a gluten free review about the GF plantain empanadas (they didn't disappoint!). We really enjoyed our meal and the fact that the menu was noted GF and the friendly waitress further explained what may or may not be GF. The chips and tortillas are homemade. The Peruvian ceviche was outstanding. The tacos... More

My husband and I used to love this place. Great food -- amazing caesar salad (that they've since taken off the menu) and poblano chicken enchiladas (that they should take off the menu as they are bland and tasteless) and the prices are way too steep for a place where you have to flag down your server for more water... Went for lunch with friends. Chips and salsa were homemade and very good. Lunch was just ok, I ordered the tacos and they were good, but I have had better. Other people in our party were blown away, my husband and I were satisfied but not impressed. I used open table to make a lunch reservation and it worked well... More

I have mixed feelings about our dinner here last weekend. The jalapeno cucumber margarita was really good. The chips and salsa are great. Taco dinner was very good but the portions are ridiculously small. Carne asada very good but also not a huge portion. We were there early, 6:00, as we had just flown in from CHicago but it was... This is a fusion type of Mexican menu. Fresh Californian style healthy food with a new twist on regular Mexican dishes and great drinks

Shared a great meal with my wife, son and his fiancee at Border grill. Exceptionally large selection of tequilas and great tasting margaritas. Great service and went with the recommendations of our server. Great ceviche, soft tacos and carne asada. A definite do again.

You just know that if the proprietors were in the kitchen your meal would be five times better than the completely played out, mediocre dishes you will be served. You know you are in trouble when the very best thing you are served are the chips with the three types of excellent fresh salsa. Bravo for the chips! Grilled fish... More

This restaurant was listed in Jonathan Gold's (LA Times food critic) list of best Los Angeles restaurants. It is hard to believe he has eaten there in recent memory. The best thing is the chips. Those are excellent and you should fill up on them. The gratis salsas were also excellent. From there, step by step, we went downhill. The... More

Restaurant is nice but the food is kind of boring, no taste. Right in Downtown Santa Monica, close to the freeway. Really pricey, not coming back.
