Used to be better!

I first came to Border Grill when they first opened and thought their food was innovative and delicious. Over 10 years later I think it is overpriced and not very good... with the exception of the Peruvian ceviche. I don't think it's worth the prices they charge and the restaurant is so noisy... read more

Surprised by all the other good reviews of this place. Drinks were bland, while the baja ceviche was just ok (bit too sour), while the tamales were fine, but the mains was the short rib enchiladas was just absolutely drowned in this thick dark sweet sauce that made the dish practically inedible, while the yucatan pork was overcooked and dry.... The spacious restaurant was quite empty when we walked in on an early Friday evening, but the dim lighting made it appear even more cavernous and, initially, a little intimidating. However, the neat, colorful artwork on the walls and ceilings added to the fun vibe. It also helped that every single staff member with whom we interacted appeared delighted to... More

We came for dinner on a Sunday not realizing the Happy Hour menu was good all evening. Our waiter recommended we share the Yucatan Pork, which was excellent, and we rounded the meal out with ceviche shots (loved the Peruvian) and grilled fish tacos.

I made a reservation for 12 of us to have brunch last weekend and it was good! The food was delicious and our server was so kind to voluntarily split our checks, which was so very appreciated. The only thing that was a bit off was that some of our group wanted the bottomless brunch and some didn't. They initially... More

This lunch was fantastic, the server was great. The chips and salsa were the best and our meals we're so different and great. We are always used to the same Mexican and this was such a great change . I had the avocado tacos and will definitely be back.

I thought the food was outstanding! I had the chicken poblano enchiladas which were delicious, really rich flavors, not just hot. The service was laughably spotty, indifferent and slow, but we weren't in a hurry and the food was so good I didn't care.

Family of four adults at dinner. Appetizers were very good, good variety and flavors. Two of the meals were tasty and of good quality. One being a steak quasdillas the others a steak tostada. Both were well made; they do steaks well! The other meals tasted awful. They were seafood enchilada (special of the night) and the pescado veracruzano. The... More

On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
