This rating is for the weekend brunch. I love their brunch. Endless small plates with lots of options. Unfortunately, I was driving so I couldn't imbibe their endless mimosas. One moment I'm enjoying a waffle with pork belly, then shrimp and grits, and them moving on to a chile relleno and it goes on and on until I'm stuffed downing... More

We had lunch here recently and I was very favourably impressed with the size of the portions and the interesting food available. Their soup of the day was particularly good and so was their Peruvian Ceviche. We were given a huge plate of Guacamole which I think was gratis. My husband very much enjoyed his Carnitas Yucatan too. However the... More

A must go place when you're in Santa Monica and 4th Street. The Carnitas Yucatan is my favorite...the pork is so tender....just heaven to your taste buds. The portion is also great. But if you're hungry like me, I can eat the whole entire plate and some.

We were at Border Grill yesterday celebrating my son's birthday. Medium size group. Reservation was confirmed at least twice on the phone. First guests arrived - were told the table was for 2 hours later. Impossible. Shown to a table by the kitchen door. I arrived right on time - too late to change the table. Menu should be great... My fiancé and I went here for brunch on our anniversary and it was pretty good. We went right when they opened so the restaurant wasn't very crowded. I could see it being a loud spot when they are full, because the restaurant itself isn't very big and they have a lot of tables shoved in there. The brunch menu... More

Yes, the Border Grill does Mexican food right and with its own distinctive style to boot. Just a block over from the Promenade you're in taco heaven, and more. Has a great broad menu whether you choose tapas, combination plates, chili relleno or other, you'll enjoy the Mexican food! ...

Terrific food, great bar (and bartenders), easily the best Mexican food we had in Santa Monica/Los Angeles, by a mile. Parking on the street isn't easy, but there's a lot at the corner and ramps nearby.

We were staying in Santa Monica so we walked here for an early dinner one evening. We started with their specialty Guacamole, which was really very good. I had the Chicken Pablano Enchilada and my husband had the Chilli Relleno. Our server was very helpful in recommending suggestions and explaining menu items in detail. He knew the menu back to... Staying in Santa Monica

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
