This is my second time while traveling to eat at Capo. It's fantastic. The environment is intimate, the service excellent, and the food is top notch. I had the most amazing smoked calamari, like none you have ever had. This is definitely a splurge dinner but well worth it.

The only thing good is a nice dining room. The food was horrible. We started with appetizers. The sweet corn ravioli with white truffles was average. It used to be much better. The raviolis were very doughy. The sweet corn wasn't very sweet and the truffles tasted like they were just out the freezer. The salads were so salty it... More

Beautiful restaurant near three expensive hotels. They must to grease the concierges because the place th place is always busy in spite of rude staff and overpriced food. A true tourist trap !

Great food and service and the check reflects the quality. Outstanding duck Prosciuto and ravioli with truffles. Fish perfect. Finish with apple tart.

We went here for my birthday dinner based on a recommendation from my husband's coworker. Atmosphere: The outside is nondescript and one might drive past the restaurant without even noticing it's there aside from the valet stand out front. The atmosphere is intimate, tables are close to each other and the dimly lit room gives a romantic vibe. Food: Average...maybe... More

We were having a family celebration and went to Capo. No question the food is fantastic but as other reviewers have noted, it is crazy expensive. Having said that, I had the best Rigatoni (truffle meat sauce) I have ever had in my life! The Linguini Vongole was also outstanding. The Rabbit was overcooked and was a disappointment but everything... More

I walked in without a reservation and could not sit at the bar as they now take reservations for that space, but I was accommodated immediately at a table ....the last one. I felt so lucky to get a chance to dine and I went there on a whim alone. The space is so beautiful I left my phone on... More

This was our second time coming back to Capo -- for $640 for 3 people, we were expecting to be awe-struck, we weren't. The waitress -- was surly, pretentious and of no help in deciding what to order, which wine, dessert and so on. Every time she approached our table she got something else wrong and when we were asking... More

This is a special place. Wonderful ambiance, service and scary good food. The risotto porcini is delicious, the fish and meat offerings especially on the grill are a signature delight. Desserts are likewise memorable. Try this, you'll love it.

As a true New Yorker, the one thing I struggle with in LA is finding great, traditional style Italian food and Capo has managed to do that so well! AS many of the reviews state Capo is not a place to go on a budget but maybe more for a special day or event. If you are not paying attention... More

Staying in Santa Monica

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
