Just a short walk along Ocean Avenue south from the Santa Monica Pier is Capo, one of the best restaurants LA has to offer. Try anything, and you will like it.

WOW, we have tried to go here time and time again and couldn't get a reservation. It is very - VERY pricey, but delicious, from the bread to the dessert. And in between -- Steak Tartare -- corn ravioli -- frisee salad and soft shell crab -- each one uniquely wonderful. We had a great 1/2 bottle of wine --... More

The concierge at the hotel I was at sent us to Capo after our first choice of restaurants proved to be unavailable. Boy was I glad it worked at that way. This is a smallish, rustic restaurant with real character, and an extremely nice owner and staff who give you the royal treatment without being pretentious about it. The food... More

We had a late flight out and our luggage was still at the Viceroy hotel so we decided to go for a stroll and get dinner before we left for the airport. Right across the road we noticed a fairly nondescript place and made an enquiry, as we walk in we were surprised to find a intimate dining room filled... More

While visiting my daughter, granddaughter in Santa Monica, she took me there. We were promptly seated and Elliott was our server. He graciously welcomed us and took our drink orders, I prefer bourbon, however, the wine selection is amazing. He brought two samples for tasting and then shared the specials of the evening with us. We chose the grilled lobster... More

I made a reservation for 2 at this restaurant based on positive mentions from the LA wine community. One glance at the online wine list showed me it has a carefully selected 1,000 positions, mostly younger, with wines ranging from domestic rose to four figure Bordeauxs and Burgundies, and a nice collection of Harlan, Screaming Eagle, Diamond Creek, Kistler, Moraga,... Although this restaurant is on a Main Street in Santa Monica, the small sign makes it hard to find. Fortunately, it has valet parking as Ocean Blvd is very busy. It is small and intimate, although the tables are close together. We found the service to be average, but not up to what one should expect at this price. The... More

This place is special. Food is delicious and special. But it's pricey so I wouldn't take kids unless you know they will behave and enjoy the fine cuisine . It's a small place so get a reservation.

Loved the pasta sampler starter - a taste of 3 different pastas. I've never seen this before and thought it was such a great idea! We shared the porterhouse steak and it was well prepared. Great taste and texture. A nice place. Celebs but not at all obnoxious. Advertising industry folks. Would recommend.

From the moment you walk through the drapes and inside you will be most impressed. The menu is awesome from top to bottom. The wine list is most impressive but also $$$$$$$$$$. Take a wallet or 2 but you will enjoy
