Just came back from a great meal at La Vecchia cucina. My family and I are vacationing in Santa Monica from Montreal. I have eaten at many Italian restaurants but Chef Mark Mollica's Lasagna with Bolognese sauce was absolutely out of this world. My wife also really enjoyed her California pizza, the pizza crust was perfect and the toppings and... More

We did carryout from La Vecchia's so we didn't have to fight for a parking spot or pay for one. The food is very very good with home baked bread with basil olive oil. We had the pasta and calamari which was really good considering it was carried out and not served fresh at the table. I got pasta with... More

I grew up in New York and have been living in LA for the last 15 years. The best Italian meal I have had since I moved here was Friday night at La Vecchia Cucina. Real NYC Italian in Santa Monica. The Eggplant with Goat cheese was incredible and the veal with porcine mushrooms + Pene Arrabiata simply awesome. Can... More

Trendy upscale scene with a traditional Italian menu. The best of both worlds. We had a party of 6 and everyone was pleased with their entrees. The wine list is extensive and reasonably priced. This is a good value for good food, good service , in a trendy setting. Can't go wrong here.

We had an evening out with very special friends at La Vecchia and had a very tasty meal. The service was spot on and the food was seasoned quite well. I would definitely recommend it for a special occasion or night out with your loved ones.

We reserved a table for 8 on a Friday night after our daughter graduated from USC. The atmosphere was very nice, dim light and low key. we ordered a bottle of wine and an appetizer of Bruschetta which was excellent. The wine list was very good and we enjoyed a bottle of Chardonnay and a bottle of Pinot Noir. Prices... More

Enjoyed one night in this restaurant in August 2013 while visiting Santa Monica. I loved the dark interior and the vibe and atmosphere. The food, drinks and service were just excellent. The staff were so attentive without being intrusive. Would love to dine here again if I was visiting Santa Monica in the future.

Very good food. Good wine selection. Excellent service. We had a large party -- 15 people -- but they were very attentive and the food was delivered in reasonable time. With a large table you expect it to be a bit slower, and it was, but not bad at all. I recommend reservations. We were there on a Tuesday night,... More

Open kitchen which adds to the busy, buzzy vibe in this non Italian, Italian restaurant. Simple food, great ingredients, excellent service. Good prices.
