Been there for late lunch on a weekday. Hardly any customers, but this surely was because of the time. Had Spaghetti Aglio e Olio. There were good, though not perfect. They could have deserved a little bit more salt for my taste. Bruschetta as appetizer was great but a huge portion. Luckily, we ordered one for two persons.

Came for A birthday Lunch, we were seated right away. Waitress was sweet as can be! Checked on us often, but was very polite about letting us visit. Food came quickly & was perfect! A complimentary birthday made it that much better!

I'm not sure why this place ever gets bad reviews. The food is first-rate and authentically Italian. They overdid the black truffles on the pasta carbonara, but otherwise everything was delicious -- as always. Nice non-Californian wine selection.

La Vecchia is a very friendly -- always -- local restaurant .Great food , great service and they are totally flexible on changes to the dishes. Good wine list and amazing prices on the food. I have been going there for 7 years and have never been anything other than totally happy.

This restaurant on Main Street is the BEST Italian food we have had in years. What else can we say, if you can go there. P.S there is a great Irish Pub 50m down the road if you like a couple of pre-dinner jars ;-)

The food here is amazing! When I sat down, it was very difficult to decide what to order. Everything on the menu looked yummy and they have a very big selection. So, whether you're in the mood for homemade pasta, chicken, salad, or pizza, they've got it. (they have a great cocktail menu too!) I ended up getting the rotola... More

Sorry, but we did not enjoy this restaurant at all. It was so busy and noisy that we could not relax at all. In summary, over popular. In fact I can't remember much about it apart from this, and that we left after our main course as we felt so uncomfortable. Perhaps okay if you went as a group, but... More

Staying in Santa Monica

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
