Nice Japanese and place but I found better rolls elsewhere

After Katsuya in Brentwood, two nights later I wanted to try this alternative Japanese in Santa Monoca, all good, the ambience, the service (not as fast as at Katsuya but good anyway), the food generally speaking, the only stuff I could compare were my beloved California rolls which I also had at... read more

Although a bit pricey but it's definitely worth it! Ate here 3x and that is how good the food is. The popcorn shrimps is so delicious! A must order dish.

The food must be good for the amount of people that pack this place on a Saturday night, but I will never know. Saturday date night - dinner and a movie. Booked a reservation for 2 through open table and arrived 5 minutes early. Stood at the bar for 15 minutes minutes and were seated. About 10 minutes went by... More

This was my first visit to this restaurant. The food is great , their Unagi sushi and tuna belly are mouthwatering. The service is not so good. After waiting for like 20 minutes after placing the order, Had to repeat it again and wait for another 20 minutes. Been to many other sushi places in Vegas, Dubai, New York or... More

This is a nice restaurant with a great view of the water and Santa Monica happenings. However, the food is not up to par with such a location. My wife and I ordered a dynamite curry role, It was so hot (we got no warning from the server) that it burned my mouth so bad, a day later its bleeding... More

Excellent service and possibly the best sushi/sashimi I have ever had. We went early and it made a huge difference because we had the sushi chef all to ourselves. He talked about everything he was doing and explained the preparation. It was as enlightening as it was delicious. If you love sushi this is the place to be.

Ask chef for the monkfish liver sashimi as an off-menu option! Its to die for! This resto does it just right, reasonable priced and located nicely at the foot of the pier. I have eaten here 5 times now and i'm sure next time i hit CA i will make a beeline for it. Highly recommended but worth booking to... More

The sushi was beautifully crafted using very fresh ingredients. My daughter eats a lot of sushi and since eating at this restaurant has been unable to find sushi as good.

This place is underselling itself as "Sushi" Roku. While I enjoyed the sushi, there are many other creative Asian fusion dishes, a nice view from the front room and friendly wait staff. I will come back!

Wonderful dining experience. We dined on the patio and enjoyed people watching as the waiters brought plates of delicious hamachi, shrimp, salmon and other delicate and exceptional sushi wonders. Thank you!

Staying in Santa Monica

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
