If you like sausage, they have a big selection and they take pride in their sausage. I had the cilantro turkey sausage and liked it. My eggs where the usual standard. My daughter had blueberry pancakes and they were very generous with the blueberries. Service was excellent. I would have liked to see some loose leaf teas instead of standard... More

I have now had breakfast here several times when visiting Santa Monica from out of state. The food is uniquely good and somewhat different from standard breakfast dishes, though retaining the character of southwestern Americana. It is also priced well, considering where it is (which probably explains the crowds we often found). You can't go wrong if you are looking... More

Bread and Porridge (B&P) is a trendy neighborhood eatery. Has excellent breakfast food well prepared with only fresh "organic" ingredients. It is small in size. Most often very busy. Even when not busy service is strangely slow. Yes they get you seated as soon as possible. Yes they offer menu's and bring beverages as soon as possible. No they don't... More

Bread and Porridge is the ultimate neighborhood brunch experience. Friendly service, nice atmosphere and wonderful old fashioned omelette and healthy side orders. Salads and sandwiches are also very tasty.

I am a connoisseur of this traditional Mexican delicacy, seeking out the best when ever I am not in Mexico. And am happy to report that this version is as good as any I have had the pleasure to eat in Mexico. This street side cafe, boasts a lovely patio, with extremely friendly wait staff and a well thought out... More

We wanted to have a proper breakfast in a non chain diner that wasn't full of people 'wanting to be seen' and we were not disappointed. The quality of food was excellent, lovely fresh juices, attentive but unobtrusive service and very accommodating of our request for plentiful supplies of hot milk for our coffee! Couldn't recommend more highly.

The fice of us all had something different and enjoyed everything. My spinach cheese omelet was huge and made with 2 eggs. The potatoes were crisp and tasty. A friend ordered oatmeal. Thenportion was huge and came with fruit, brown sugar and milk. Too much to even finish. The couches are wasted space and packed so close together with the... More

If that is not a good enough reason to patronize the place, how about the excellent food? It is delicious.

We ate at Bread and Porridge for brunch. We had to wait but the couches were comfortable to relax on. The wait staff were pleasant. I ordered the Mac and Cheese which was a $9 starter. It was too cheesy for me, and I couldn't really eat more than a few bites. My friend got the grilled cheese sandwich on... More

Amazing food, great service. A good place for a breakfast meeting. The french press coffee is worth the trip alone.
