Travelling from Australia and this was our first night in LA. Looked up the best restaurants to eat at via TripAdvisor and saw that this place was at the top of a long list. Walked there from our hotel and very glad we did. The food, service and value was amazing. The best Gnocchi I've ever eaten and the size... More

Why is everything so heavy?! Dishes weren't really Italian.... Sort of Italian American with their own little spin. Most of their dishes sound alike. The Chicken Marsala with vegetables was very bizarre- chicken on top of shredded veggies, the whole thing drowned in Marsala. Wouldn't rush back. I was totally turned off by the flies and the last diner's crumbs... More

Was the best Italian resturant I have visited, took my family(6of us) seated as we walked in the door. Our waitress Elana was so keen to make us welcome and suggested meals that would suit one of our family, great gluten free as was happy to cook it in a separate pan, the wine list very affordable. The meals then... More

We were recently on our way to Los Angeles international Airport and stopped by again to experience the wonderful food and service at Fritto Misto, which we made a special effort to find; it is at the corner of sixth and Colorado in Santa Monica California.

Terrific Italian food with speedy, friendly service. You can even bring your own wine in for a $2 corking fee! We had lobster ravioli and garlic shrimp with veggies and they were both delicious. Our server was gracious enough to gift us a flourless chocolate cake slice for dessert. It was a great dining experience through and through.

Visited the restaurant after reading the great reviews. Fritto Misto did not disappoint. A friendly and unpretentious place to eat. Very relaxing with a step back in time listening to music from Steely Dan and 'Fly like an eagle' by the Steve Miller band. We ordered the Lobster Ravioli in creamy garlic sauce. The service was prompt and the serving... More

They do give you large portions, which is a plus. My wife and I split a plate of pasta and sauce. It was fine, and about what one would expect of most Italian restaurants. Parking is a big issue, due to construction in the area. I was lucky to find one person pulling out in the small narrow lot behind... More

We've been eating at Fritto Misto for over a decade. It is a simple, moderately priced Italian restaurant with good food and service. The only down side is they don't take reservations for less than six guests and at times there is a long wait for a table. We love the atomic pasta and the gargonzola salad The portions are... More

Staying in Santa Monica

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
