not just your average italian restaurant

I was a little unenthused about eating Italian. Whoa, did my attitude change by the end of the evening. Absolutely top notch food in a lively setting: unexpected, in a restaurant without airs. Lots of people waiting for tables by the time we left: I can surely see why.

This unassuming gem gets very busy so get in before 7pm to beat the rush. Food, service and value was unbeatable! We were visitors but would definitely go back if in the area, again.

Forget the Promenade. Forget the Pier. Come here to eat authentic Italian at reasonable prices in an atmosphere that seems like locals come here. It is a short walk through a friendly neighborhood to get here. We had lasagna and spaghetti with wine, but everything looked great at the other tables. There was a wedding rehearsal dinner in the next... More

We had an 18 month old all the way to a 58 year old and everyone loved what they ordered! The vegetable lasagna was great!

Just came back from Fritto Misto. We are staying at Shutters on the Beach and were looking or something not too pretentious, not easy to find in Santa Monica. Based on TripAdvisor reviews, we gave it a shot and are glad we did. The interior is very basic and the location isn't bucolic but the food is fresh and authentic.... More

We absolutely loved Fritto Misto. We went on a Thursday night around 7p, after a long day of sightseeing. We were exhausted and felt instantly comfortable and taken care of here. Staff was so friendly and made great recommendations. Our food was incredible. I had the lobster ravioli off the specials menu. A little pricier than the other pasta dishes... More

I was in California for my daughter's birthday, and picked Fritto Misto for dinner, based on the TripAdvisor ratings. She, her roommate and I arrived about 6:00 pm, expecting a wait, but to our surprise, we were seated immediately. Our waiter was very prompt and very attentive, suggesting the best sauces for the pastas that the girls wanted. The fettuccine... More

Recommended by our travel agent, what a great recommendation, only 10 minutes walk from Shore Hotel. We visited for an early dinner and received a massive warm welcome from Cinthya. We started with a complimentary bread basket, very fresh. Cinthya made recommendations for the vegetarians in our group; goats cheese fettuccini, Mediterranean pasta and the special of pumpkin ravioli -... More

Staying in Santa Monica

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
