We walked in as we wanted to avoid the standard touristy 3rd St Promenade restaurants. We were very impressed with the service and the food was very nice surprise too! The past was good, as was the steak. Portions were decently sized and it was prepared very well, both visually as well as for the taste buds. Would highly recommend... More

Very much enjoyed the amuse bouche (a thimbleful of mushroom soup), the salad with grapes, etc., and the sauteed trout. The black linguini with shrimp supposedly in a "sharable" size, was bland and tiny. We were sharing everything - the "sharable" - more like an appetizer - and the main course arrived at the same time. The wine list is... More

Tried Jiraffe during Dine LA and had a sumptuous, amazing meal. Each course was beautifully presented, artfully seasoned, and definitely worth the calories! Excellent wine list and attentive, skilled service. Best of all, it's a lovely place with a very warm atmosphere. For that quality of food many places would give you attitude, but these guys just seemed to love... More

I came here a few years ago and was decidedly underwhelmed. A business dinner recently brought me back and wow, quite a different experience. We arrived early in the evening and they have a happy hour menu that offered some very pleasant wines and a decent selection for for sampling food prior to the main meal. The amuse bouche was... My husband and I were not yet married and just starting to venture in to finer dining when we 1st discovered Jiraffe on a business trip. We were in love. The meal we had that night inspired many dinner parties and was the bar for other restaurants for us for many years. Eleven years after that trip, we have returned... More

I went here with my boyfriend for a date night. We originally wanted to try it because of the seafood paella but they had recently changed the menu and weren't offering it when we went. Instead we had the rack of lamb. Delicious!!! I would highly recommend. Good, prompt service, cute ambience and most important great food! Definitely will go... More

Ideally, 3.5 stars would be the right rating for me. Dined here on a Monday with business associates. Place was busy even for a Monday, but surprisingly (in a good way) not at all noisy. Service was very good, prompt, friendly, very helpful with food and wine recommendations. Wine list is not huge, but varied with a good range of... More

We had a most excellent meal here recently. A party of four, we were seated on the balcony. We had the good fortune to be there during a "throw back" menu, some of their most favorite meals from the past. We all ordered a different favorite from the past, and all were delicious! The waitstaff were friendly and helpful, and... More

Average and not memorable food. I also got the sense that when I explained food allergies (like we can't eat gluten) to the waiter he was not paying close attention. You sort of had to cross your fingers that the food was free of the things you don't want. I would not recommend this restaurant to those with food allergies.

One of the best meals we have had in three months of living in the US. The food was thoughtfully prepared and beautifully seasoned and presented. The amuse geule of mushroom soup was sensational. We sat upstairs watching the locals at play over the balcony, the restaurant is not stuffy and the owner chef is very much in evidence working... More
