Average and not memorable food. I also got the sense that when I explained food allergies (like we can't eat gluten) to the waiter he was not paying close attention. You sort of had to cross your fingers that the food was free of the things you don't want. I would not recommend this restaurant to those with food allergies.

One of the best meals we have had in three months of living in the US. The food was thoughtfully prepared and beautifully seasoned and presented. The amuse geule of mushroom soup was sensational. We sat upstairs watching the locals at play over the balcony, the restaurant is not stuffy and the owner chef is very much in evidence working... More

From the three meals we had in our group, although the food was good do not think it deserved the rating of best restaurant in San Monica. Help seemed very rushed, tables very close together. Service average, but friendly.

Came here on a whim and we weren't disappointed. I ended up with the trout and my girl had the ravioli. Both were outstanding. The servers were friendly and even a touch comedic and charming. This place can get rather loud at times, but it's not a large space. It may be a touch on the expensive side, but overall... More

This is one of the best restaurants in Santa Monica. We've gone here on and off for many years, and it is always a special treat. Try the trout or any of the fish dishes, following a choice of any of the excellent appetizers, and you won't be disappointed. Pricey? Yes. This is a special occasion restaurant, but if you... More

Since we had a movie to go to, we had a reservation at JiRaffe at 5:30, which is when they open for dinner. After they sat us at our table, the wait staff was still running around setting up for dinner, which was not the serene, welcoming experience I would expect from a place like that. However, after about 15... More

My family of 8 and I had a fabulous dinner here before The Eagles concert at The Forum. We were celebrating my birthday, and so we ordered everything we wanted - including soups, salads, streaks, tuna, cocktails...and everything was outstanding. I am a snob about seared tuna, and it was delicious here at JiRaffe. I also really appreciated the ambiance... More

I've been reading good reviews about this restaurant for a long time. A theater curtain at the BROAD put me in Santa Monica, so I decided to take advantage of the opportunity to enjoy this much-touted French eatery. WHAT a disappointment! It's a pleasant enough bistro, and the corner table pressed against the up staircase saved us from at least... More

The menu is great California cuisine. We had reservations on a Friday night and were seated promptly. The service was very attentive without being intrusive, there was no rushing us through a glass of wine while we were looking over the menu. Everything sounded good, and we weren't disappointed by the salads or entrees. The deserts were delicious. The decor... More

My wife and I enjoyed a nice dinner at JiRaffe. We began with two excellent cocktails- an superb tangerine martini and the best Mojito I've ever had. An amuse bouche of mushroom soup was a portent of good things to come. Very light creamy and mushroomy. Our appetizers continued to please with a very richly flavored but not heavy French... More
