Stick you neck out. Super !

A classic Santa Monica gourmet restaurant with the special Cali-centric food you read about in Gourmet magazines. Exotic touches to often simple items which make them memorable. Super selections. Eaten here many times - always great. Enjoy.

The food was very good and the service was friendly. The problem is the menu is quite limited and the wine selection is not too good and the wine I wanted they were out of.

A nondescript corner restaurant which I drove by at first, since their sign wasn't lit that night. Located far enough away from the touristy 3rd street Promenade, on the corner of Santa Monica and 5th street. Plenty of parking with both a public structure, street metered parking and valet. A cozy, dimly lit, quaint, romantic establishment with a moderate noise... More

It was overall a good meal , mainly fish based courses but the final price was too high. Not all the courses were great ,the service was acceptable. The place is nice but again I was expecting something more especially regarding how the fish was cooked.I would not reccomend the scallops while the sole was good.the lobster needed to be... More

We just returned from California, and I wanted to encourage my fellow travelers to have dinner at JiRaffe, before they close mid February. Raphael Lunetta, chef-owner- has been at this location for 19 years, and wants to do something more casual, but something that will still be up to his high standards. I can't wait to see what Raphael comes... More

Big, bold flavors-small portions. Got in last minute in a Friday night which is great. Scallop appetizer was fantastic-but only one. And it was luke warm. Beautiful citrus sauce but, again, only one. Corn stuffed pasta with a truffle cream sauce was divine. But, again, luke warm. Something could have been added to the corn filling to cut the sweetness... More

I have travelled back and forth to most parts of the USA for the last 20+ years, and lived in Boston, Ma for 6 years giving me a wide experience of all types of food and restaurants over there. This visit was to the West Cost direct so to help combat jet-lag I booked in at Shutters on the Beach... More

Our first visit to JiRaffe was long overdue, and despite the anticipation, the expectations were exceeded. The service (Allison & Co.) was very friendly, as if we had been life long friends, and professional. The food was exquisite and cooked to perfection. The flavors were balanced and seasoned perfectly. While waiting for our car to be brought around, we met... More

Staying in Santa Monica

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
