We were excited about going to have our first US seafood meal, but came away $480 poorer and disappointed with the entire experience. We arrived at 7.30pm. The wine list is adequate but nothing special. We took the recommendation of the waiter - a range of oysters from various parts of the US - this was excellent. The waiter recommended the... More

What a tourist-trapped dump. Recommended by our hotel (never made that mistake again), we went down and after a long day, just wanted to have a relaxing dinner. Being from New York, we're typically not into dinners "for the masses." Well, we probably should have specified that. Upon entering, this place was LITTERED with tourists. I can appreciate the desire... More

I have been eating the The Lobster for many years, and am constantly impressed with the food. Being that this in the most "touristy" part of Santa Monica, right at the pier, I still enjoy going as a resident of LA!

At the entrance of Santa Monica Pier, very well addressed, nice tables, excellent attention and service. We were a group and had a nice raspberry martini and daiquiris for starters. Then we had crispy calamara and shrimp, crab cakes, steak, lobster salad, crab salad and fish with a fruity sauce. The food is average, well presented and based mainly on... More

I loved the fact that this restaurant was right off the Santa Monica pier, great views! Make your reservation early, we made one about 10 am the day of and could only get an 8:30 time slot. The food was pretty good. Drawbacks were very pricey and very loud! The staff was very nice and courteous.

We came here during the last week in Aug 2014. We decided to sit at the bar and have the bar bites with drinks. We were given menus and then waited 20 mins for the short, hispanic bartender (didn't get his name) to finish cleaning and wiping all the glasses and putting them all back while he watched us wait... We lived in California from January 1993 through February 2006. We used to eat regularly at The Lobster in Santa Monica. Great location, great food and excellent service. On August 02, 2104 we stopped in Santa Monica during a trip to California. We decided to have our lunch at The Lobster to enjoy excellent food and souvenirs. We were highly... More

Took my soon to be son in law to Santa Monica for the Labor Day weekend. My wife and I with the daughter and her boyfriend went to the restaurant with high expectations based on the many times my wife and I had been there. We were not disappointed. The food is a 10, service with a smile and a... More

I attended with 2 colleagues on a business dinner. I am not a seafood eater, so I was concerned. As luck would have it, they do a fantastic steak and chips! It's a really busy room with booths and tables. We had a table booked, but still spent some time at the bar initially as our table wasn't available. There... More

A friend was visiting from out of state and wanted to eat "by the beach". I haven't dined here in a while since I moved but it was a wonderful lunch! She had the lobster roll and I had the lobster salad. Leave room for the 3 berry tart!
