Great view and food

This restaurant is located immediately next to the Santa Monica pier. There is ample valet parking. The bar is noisy and busy, and is a good place to watch what is happening on the street. The food and atmosphere were nice and our waiter was very efficient and pleasant. I wasn't very impressed with attitude of employees at check-in desk. Made me feel like they didn't think we should be there. The menu items aren't your every day seafood items, but they were prepared of above quality ingredients.

We came to the Lobster to enjoy a 3 month wedding anniversary dinner but left feeling like we way overpaid for very mediocre food. First off I DID find the staff to be very nice, friendly, and accommodating, especially the hostess. The bread and Chimichurri oil concoction was so incredibly delicious that we almost filled up on the bread alone.... More

Even the food was excellent, as you look out over the ocean and Santa Monica Pier. Considered by locals a tourist trap, we found it both beautiful and delicious, with good service. Worth a trip.

Best to go at off hours or will never get a window seat. But great oysters and great crab and lobster salad is the best. Lots of tourists but then that comes with the view and location. Great place to bring friends from out of town.

This came well recommended. But we found it over touristy, the staff seemed eager to serve you quickly and get the table relaid for the next people

I made a reservation a couple weeks in advance for my son's graduation dinner. I requested a view table and was told my request was noted. On the day of our reservation, I stopped in to the restaurant and reminded the front desk staff that we really wanted a nice view table as we were celebrating a graduation. The man... More

The Lobster is located right at the start of the Santa Monica Pier and it could be a bit of a pain trying to get there and park. But the views are quite delightful. The atmosphere of the place is pretty nice as well. The wait staff is pretty good and the food is not bad. The acoustic of the... More

Staying in Santa Monica

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
