We selected a tasting menu here (the middle one, with 10 courses, which was plenty of food) with matching wines. All too frequently, we find that matching fines do not reach the level of the food, even in the best restaurants. This is one of the best restaurant meals we've had, the the wines were on par. The wines -... More

Every year me and my husband enjoy traveling out of the country to celebrate our anniversary. We had heard many great things of Melisse in Santa Monica, so we decided to try it this year. I was flabbergasted by the service and quality given. My expectations were highly exceeded and loved the Golden Imperial Osetra Caviar I was served. We... More

Relaxed and elegant dining experience. Impeccable service and amazing dishes. My wife loves this place and there is usually a new dish she hasn't had that is memorable. Expensive but worth it.

Melisse as many good restaurants in LA is a house in a corner, with a small parking on its backyard with valet service. This place is a big central room with some tables around. Perfect for a date or business meetings. Is quiet, elegant and comfortable. You have the chance to choose between the chefs menu or your selection. But... More

There are lots of contenders for best restaurant in LA, but Melisse is a head above the rest. Chef Josiah Citrin has upped his game to firmly fill the void that was created when SONA closed, and now presents the best dining experience in California south of Napa. His attention to detail shows in every exquisite dish, which are meticulously... More

We came to Melisse for our anniversary and had the 10 course menu. First of all, everyone treated us really well. We were wished happy anniversary over and over again. So there was very excellent service and we felt the atmosphere was warm and inviting. We even got some truffles to take away after the dinner. It is very romantic... More

I rarely like giving out 5-star reviews because there's usually room for improvement at every establishment. Melisse, however, exceeded my expectations when I made the decision to bring my wife to dine here. We each went with the 4-course menu and made sure to order different things. 4 courses may not sound like a lot but it's more like 8... More

Took my girl our for dinner on her birthday. Tried to see which restaurants in LA had good reviews and saw it had been ranked by michelin in past, so figured maybe its worth the visit and the price Went and sat down around 6pm, ordered from their degustation menu.
