Amazing day Ning experience

This restaurant never fails us, make a reservation and Magic happens. The food is superb, atmosphere great, service wanting for nothing. It may seem a little pricy, but it goes with the territory.

This was our second visit to Melisse. We were celebrating our marriage, that had taken place on the beach in Florida. We chose the prixe fixe menu (not the ten course Red, we'd never be able to make it through ten courses) and wine pairing for my wife. I chose a single glass of rosé champagne that was recommended by... More

We visited this restaurant with another couple several weeks ago. Based on the ratings and reviews, we had high hopes. Those hopes, however, were by and large dashed. The total bill for our party of four with tip exceeded $1400. I admit we had high expectations, but at those prices, I think we are entitled to expect something special. Sadly,... More

Modern, chick and luxurious and one of the most exciting dining experiences, Melisse definitely holds high standards and reputation for its great service and culinary experience. from the minute you set foot inside the restaurant until you set foot out the door. staff very helpful and very attentive. great selection on wines, champagne and mixed drinks from the bar. Came... More

my then-fiance (now wife) and i went to mark our recent engagement and the v-day on 2/13/15 (i remember it was friday, and sat 2/14 was not available). their regular menus were supplanted by v-day menus for the weekend and so that's what we were stuck with. food was good. wine was pretty good. the service was excellent but a... I always come here for my birthday dinner. Though the food is expensive, the quality and the presentation are never disappointing. I like to order the set menu as it has several choices to suit your tastes.

I just had dinner again at Melisse. This is the most sophisticated and complete restaurant in Southern California. This is a unique place meant for the most critical of dinners. When you go you cannot go and think about the cost. If that is an issue do not go. The focus is on food and the wine and on the... More

The menu, the wine pairing, the service, the French sommelier, everything was perfect! Cost is quite high (more than 300USD per person).

Whether or not you are grateful that such an exceptional dining experience exists in your neighborhood or you happen upon Melisse in blissful ignorance, like we and our friends did, may dictate how you view Melisse. The first clue to what’s coming is the $50 charge just to hold the reservation. Expect to pay the equivalent of a small mortgage... More

My husband and I had the 4 course menu at Melisse and really enjoyed the food. The steak tartare and lobster bolognese were delicious and my steak main was beautiful. However, what the food had in greatness, the restaurant lacked in atmosphere. The decor is dated, the pictures on the wall are sad, and the lack of windows plus aubergine... More

Staying in Santa Monica

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
