Good British Pub in Santa Monica

When we visited Santa Monica for a few days in mid July 2015 after a few weeks in the UK we didnt expect to find a British pub around the corner from our hotel......we were pleasantly suprised with the range and quality of the European beers on tap (eg London Pride, Leffe Blonde etc). Having been to England and tasting authentic English fare, we like to try places in this country to see how they compare. I must say, this one compares very favorably. The three of us tried a Cornish Pastie, a Steak and Guinness Pie, Scotch Eggs, Lamb Soup and a Pub Burger. Everything was perfect. Next door is a shoppe that... More

I ate here my first time, with a Brit who loves it here. The food was delicious and I was able to verify its authenticity when I took a trip to England shortly after. The atmosphere is pleasant and service is spot on. Highly recommend to Brits who are looking for a taste of home, and to newbies who wonder... More

Grab a pint of Boddingtons and some delicious Rhubarb Crumble! The wait staff are fun and friendly, and will guide you through your English fare.

This was a repeat visit with a friend who lives in Westwood: My friend is Scottish and I an Anglophile. We enjoy this bustling place for touch of the Isles. As usual, the place was quite busy at the lunch hour, more so this visit as the final match of the FA cup was being broadcast. Neither of us strayed... More

Four of us stopped in for a drink and lunch after spending some time at the beach. The fish & chips was excellent, as were the other meals our group purchased. Prices were reasonable and the staff was friendly. We sat outside in the patio area. The place wasn't crowded at all, but when I went in to use the... More

A pleasant staff very helpful and desirous to help. The food is authentic English fare. I had the Ploughman's Platter and it was the same as I had in England. The beer selection is very nice and European. You can eat outside and watch the world go by.

Eight of us made reservations (table ready early) and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Very attentive wait staff checked on us often and took care of us quickly. Ordered fish and chips, salmon, shepherd's pie, and steak pie. Not a complaint among us and large doggy bag portions. However, no matter how stuffed you are, you must order the sticky toffee pudding.... More

As a English family who have lived in the US for 3 years we enjoyed a taste of home. After a busy day sharing the sights and sounds of Santa Monica & Venice with friends from the UK. We ate the Sausage & Mash and Steak &Ale pie both of which were freshly made and very tasty. Thoroughly recommended.

Staying in Santa Monica

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
