Best fish and chips ever!

I am not a fried food fan but I went with a British friend and he "insisted" I get the fish and chips. There is a king and queens portion and I chose the queen. Mine was gone right away and I was nipping bites off of his. The atmosphere is fun and friendly and they serve all of your... read more

Good food, service and atmosphere. Great place to come with a large group. Had a Brit in our party - she said the meals were quite authentic.

Our large group thoroughly enjoyed Afternoon Tea at Ye Olde King's Head in Santa Monica. We were served 4 different sandwiches, deviled egg, sausage roll, mini quiche, scone and 2 desserts - all very delicious! Exceptional value for Afternoon Tea in the L.A. area. Service by Christine was attentive and gracious. The authentic English Pub decor really adds to the... More

Here is the most authentic English (more English than British, for those who care), food in the land. For breakfast, lunch, or dinner, this place is spot on. Very cozy and comfortable for dining or the great Pub. The English breakfasts are so authentic, you'll think you're at Buckingham Palace.Tally Ho.

Came here with my boyfriend because he wanted fish and chips. I'm not a fish eater so I chose the Queens breakfast or something like that. It came with two eggs, a banger, two pieces of meat, tomatoes, beans and toast. It was so good! The tomatoes were grilled perfect and my eggs cooked sunny side up! The service was... More

A great place for fish and chips, but it depends on the day. And by that I mean.....who is on the fish fryer. Some times I come and it's great. Crisp, light batter and beautifully white fish, with lovely english style chips and the best mushy peas this side of the Atlantic. Other times, the fish is under or overcooked,... More

OK so it's not a real British pub but after weeks away from a proper measured pint of bitter it is very welcome. The only thing they need to do is serve bitter beer at ambient temperature not ice cold.

Stumbled across this pub in 2014 and went back there specifically in 2015 to sample the food and ambiance again - it doesn't seem to change. As an expat Brit I miss pubs and this is a great example. English beer (although you can select others too) is great and the food very good. Opted for sausage rolls and cornish... More

Staying in Santa Monica

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
