Great Cod and Chips!

Our second visit in two years. Saw it reviewed on The Food Channel and vowed to visit when I retired a couple of years ago. I did... I had the double cod and chips on the first visit and the single cod and chips this visit. Beautiful! Very hot, crispy batter and tasty. $14. It's a typical old... read more

At first this looks great from the street but once inside its a bit old and tired, should have been a sign to leave but having just arrived from a long flight from New York we were tired and hungry. My wife ordered a steak well done and I ordered the liver and onions medium rare. They arrived in the... More

What a find. A well stocked bar with friendly staff who had a great sense of humour. The bar snacks were tasty and well worth the money. The restaurant food was excellent with large portions. Good solid food, liver and onions, fish and chips and bangers and mash. All served at a reasonable price by lovely staff. There is a... More

This is a typical English pub in Santa Monica, we spent the afternoon here on our visit to Santa Monica. A great friendly place to eat and drink. The staff are extemely friendly and helpful, with all our queries about Santa Monica. The food is great and typical pub grub. Would definitely stop here again for some freshment. We stopped... More

Need I say more? The staff was fun and friendly. Cute English Pub with a good mix of people. Great fish and chips with a nice beer selection. The karaoke was super fun!

this place gets rocking on game days with plenty of fans drinking beer really early watching their favorite EPL and other games. A really good time, big screens, great service, big beer selection.

Stopped by for our lunch here as we always do when in the area. I was so excited to have afternoon tea and it didn't disappoint. Finger sandwiches, a sausage roll, quiche and deserts including a scone! Mmm!! He had the full breakfast as always and enjoyed. Waitress was so nice and very attentive even though a huge party came... More

Ye Olde King's Head was for the last thirty years my go to place for good English pub food when I was feeling homesick. I took my kids here over the years and it became a family favourite. I had not been for a while but this weekend my son wanted to go. We made an early reservation and our... More

Maybe it was just a bad day for the waitress and the chef but I ordered the daily special (prime rib) and wifey ordered the grilled chicken sandwich. My plate arrived and you could tell it had spent way too long under the heat lamp (maybe someone else had sent it back?). After several minutes the sandwich arrived cold, slightly... More

After doing some shopping in Santa Monica on a Sunday night, we stopped here for dinner. Although they seated us right away, we wish they would have cleaned around our table some more (the priori guests left some beverages on the window sill at our table). After a few minutes of waiting our waitress came by and we immediately found... More

Staying in Santa Monica

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
