Authentic Polish Cooking

Savory Polish dishes in a friendly atmosphere. A restaurant of long-standing in Santa Monica. One does well to sample the stroganoff: beef stewed with wild mushrooms served over spaetzle (a kind of pasta). Their nalesniki: savory crepes, spinach or wild mushroom also tasty.

Do yourself a favor and do not come to this place. Santa Monica has many other good restaurants that all you have to do is select the type of food and go. My friend and I went there but only the service was not great, the food was ok but not great so certainly I will not recommend this polish... More

Invited to dinner by local friends when we visited, we were advised to try the excellent Long Island duck. Slow roasting crisped the skin, as touted, but also dried the meat. If this were Peking Duck, it might not have been too bad, but even the usually moist dark meat suffered. My wife tried the Beef Stroganoff, which was reduced... More

The outdoor area of Warszawa is lovely and cool. We got there too late for Happy Hour, but loved the Bison Grass Vodka martini. A Polish specialty, this vodka is truly special. We also enjoyed duck pate, two kinds of steamed pierogis - mushroom potato and beef carrot. Prices are mid-range, but the unusual menu is well prepared and well... More

The restaurant is very nice inside. It is divided into a number of rooms so this keeps the noise at a minimal level. All the staff are friendly and helpful in explaining the dishes. Be sure to start with some of their pierogies. They are all homemade and absolutely amazing. In fact, all their dishes are homemade and absolutely wonderful.... More

Went to Warzawa again with a visiting Polish-American acquaintance recently. The food here is solid, basic Polish classic dishes, and he seemed pleased. Portions seem generous, but nothing too surprising on the menu--just classics. Love the Buffalo Grass Vodka (and associated cocktails). The service is very helpful and friendly. The environment is cozy, not too loud. I've been several times... More

There are only a few restaurants in Los Angeles that make real from scratch potato pancakes. These are really good.

I and family and friends have eaten at this restaurant many times over the years. Collectively, I have been at this restaurant more than thirty times. The restaurant is not the typical restaurant found in most American cities; it is an authentic Polish restaurant. The menu is authentic Polish cuisine. The prices are not cheap but they are not high,... More

This is not strictly Polish food. You will find schnitzel, spaetzle, and other foods if you are not into stuffed cabbage, pierogis, potato pancakes, etc. But love yourself for a meal and enjoy as many food options as you can. We were there in a group of 6 so we shared several starters and mains. The waitress was wonderful. She... More

I was taken here for my birthday . My brother was visiting from out of town. The food was like our Mother used to make. The ambiance, service and food were all outstanding. It is a small restaurant but there were tables for parties of 6 and even 10 set up. You do need reservations

Staying in Santa Monica

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
