It's California, so the fact you can actually wiggle your toes in the sand while you eat shouldn't be such an anomaly, but it is! I hadn't been here in years, but it turns out that even though the laconic wait staff haven't changed, the food has. I ate a yummy grilled peach and kale salad. My daughter had an... More

You can actually take your shoes off and eat barefoot on the beach at this restaurant. Beautiful views and fun to watch people come and go. They have a children's playground as well and indoor seating if you prefer. They offer beer and wine, but no liquour. I had the grilled half chicken and broccoli which was ok, but I've... More

If you enjoy sitting at a table right on the beach (with sand all around you), this is the place for you. The food is good, the service is good, and people watching is excellent. You can sit right where people walk by you on the beach; you can also stay inside, if you wish. We were there for brunch,... More

Went there for two Sundays for lunch. Great service and very healthy choices of entree's. Wait for a table on the beach was never more than 15 minutes. Service was very prompt and would give great recommendations on the menu.

We walked on the beach from the Santa Monica Pier to this cafe. Upon our arrival we noticed that its more of a cafe than a restaurant. With that said, my family did enjoy our visit and meal. Location is great with a million dollar view. Menu is cafe style with breakfast, lunch and dinner items available all day. Service... More

I am a big breakfast fan. We all liked this place. Had a great wild mushroom omelette. My wife and daughter also had a great omelette. My wifes had sweet potatoes in ihers which was different and very good. Great hashbrowns and scones and coffee. Service was good. It was a long walk uphill back to the hotel which helped... More

We rented Segways and stopped here for lunch. The wait for the server was long, the food was on the expensive side, ( hamburger $15+) it was eatable but by no means good. My husband ordered a beer and the small glass was served 3/4 full. We finished the meal and then had to hunt down waiter to get the... More

Imagine discussing business while sitting at a table, an umbrella shielding you from the bright sun and beach goers passing on their way to the ocean. That's Back on the Beach; a casual spot in a public beach club that offers a beautiful view with very good sandwiches, salads and sides. And yes, you can find a quiet spot to... More

This is a casual restaurant that serves excellent food and a great cup of coffee. I had lunch with a friend who is vegan. She was able to have a delicious meal without sacrifice while I ate a wild mushroom and goat cheese omelet. It was served with a house made scone and sliced baked potatoes, yummy. The setting couldn't... More
