If it has black bean sauce - EAT IT! Did I mention that the Black Bean sauce is great! OK everything at Typhoon is really good. Even standard fare like Kung Pao Chicken might be the best you've ever had. Enjoy!!!

Have you had REALLY great Catfish lately, and an amazing view, all thrown together with great service? No?! Oh, okay - that's because you've never been to Typhoon Restaurant in Santa Monica darlings! I've had several different meals at this restaurant, but it's the enormous catfish specialty, that has to be split between two people, that keeps bringing me, family... More

Loved the panoply of Asian fusion dishes- more variety than you see anywhere. All were tasty. Added benefit is that you can go up on the roof and see and hear the planes takeoff and land! You can actually see them from the restaurant interior, which has an impressive view.

They have it all, great food, great view, great service. What more can you ask for in a restaurant. I have eaten here dozens of times and have never been disappointed. Great lunch spot and killer dinner spot. If you were sitting any closer to the runway at Santa Monica Airport you would be a pilot, yet it is never... More

The view from this spot is great, watching planes take off, and not a bit of noise. The resto itself is asian cuisine and good, novel, but not great, but it does not matter, because it is such an interesting place to go, and the drinks and wine lists are also very good. What makes this place special, in addition... More

I attended a dual 90th birthday party in their function space. The airport directional signage to the restaurant is good and the parking is plentiful. The staff was very welcoming. The buffet food - with asian twists - was as good as buffet food is going to be. What sets the place apart is the room was full of natural... More

Do not judge a book by its cover! Decor and location were excellent. Unfortunately the meals and service were just average. They offered a Tuna Tartar appetizer which was to die for if you like that sort of dish. However, Pad Tai and Shrimp/Scallop dinners were something to be desired. The MaiTai was just horrible. Not even sure how you... More

Monday nights this place has some amazing live jazz! The food is OK and some is a bit too exotic for me to have tried (i.e., insects) but the drinks are good. For a wonderful night of big jazz music, this place is simply unbeatable.

This restauarant is situated right next to the runway at Santa Monica CA general aviation airport. While having a great meal you can watch small planes and private jets take off and land. The food is Pacific Rim cuisine...foods from the Phillipines, Japan, Korea, Thailand, etc. Also a few exotic bugs on the menu! Last night we went before sunset... More
