Great Italian Food Served Leisurely

VERY good food- service was slow and atmosphere was average. Recommend not using Groupon - order off the regular menu since the options on the Groupon menu are limited. Would go again but expect a 2 hour meal on a Saturday.

Food, atmosphere and service were just average. No windows or art, slow service, food (we had lasagne and veal piccata) was just ok. Bread was almost inedible. Bread sticks were good!

Combine the finest wine list in Los Angeles with perfectly prepared Classic dishes and very creative specials and tasting menu and you have Velentino. As a happy client of over 35 years, I have never been disappointed. Nor, despite it being expensive, have I ever felt that I didn't receive great value. I have not seen the menu or combed... More

Go old school with awesome fresh ways.this place is elegant yet has wonderful food. Pricey but worth the spend. the service is outstanding. the atmosphere is easy and very "old school"where you can actually sit and have a conversation with your partner. Luxurious and like I said so worth the spend.. Value is average for wonderful food

Had wanted to try this restaurant for years as it has many accolades. Unfortunately it is nothing special although it tries to be authentic Italian, it is very disappointing. We had a seven course menu and only one course was enjoyable. None of the other courses were distinctive and the total bill was $250 with only 3 glasses of wine.... More

What a letdown experience at the once famed Valentino. We had a Groupon Deal, which should have been my red flag, for a 5 course menu for two and booked my birthday dinner there last night. The food was just ok but the bread was maybe the worst I have ever had. Piero needs to change things up and get... More

This was my second visit to this lovely restaurant. The atmosphere is very traditional in appearance and service, which makes it a wonderful place to spend an evening. While everyone enjoyed their meals there were no surprises or explosions of tastes. My lamb chops were perfect, but the presentation was uninspired. I feel that this is one of the things... More

Valentino is the best Italian restaurant in the LA area by a comfortable margin. The food was fantastic and inspired, the service was attentive, though a bit confused, and I could have spent hours perusing the massive and interesting wine list (almost all with 3 digit prices). What makes this place a “four” instead of a “five” simply comes down... More

I was a little concerned about coming here. The yelp reviews have not been very kind lately. But it did win a Michelin star a few years back, so we took a chance. We had dinner this past Saturday. At 6:30 there was only one other table occupied. 15 minutes later, the restaurant was nearly full. Our starters were great,... More

Valentino is, was, and always will be the standard for Italian food and wine in Los Angeles. The food is perfection. The wine - OH, THE WINE - is divine. And the two together is pure bliss. Valentino is one of the few restaurants that I know I can bring clients, friends, and family to - and they will all... More

Staying in Santa Monica

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
