Love their Happy Hour

I've been to the Mercado happy hour many times. Weekdays from 5-7 they have a discounted food selection that is so good. My favorite are the carnitas tacos and hibiscus margarita. It gets crowded, but it's fun. The food is amazing and much better value for happy hour than the regular menu.

I can't believe I haven't reviewed this restaurant before. It's become one of our favorites here in Santa Monica. I've dined here both with wife and daughter and have hosted a small dinner for business associates here. Last week I was left to my own devices for the evening and dined solo. The carnitas is the best I've ever had... More

Excellent food and wonderful service. Good location as well. Very good ambiance whether with friends or family. Somewhat of a limited menu but it was worth it.

Fresh, full of flavor, spicy, we will definitely recommend ! We sat at the bar because it was full (on a Tuesday night at 9 pm). The bartenders were great.

Went with a Mexican friend, she rated all the food. Not the kind of place to get jugs of margaritas but a fantastic range of tequilas. Shared a bunch of lovely entrées which were very very tasty and great mains - in my case the Carnitas was the biggest and nicest piece of pork I've had in a long time.... More

This place was ridiculously good, my husband hasn't stopped talking about the carnitas since we left california. Very busy place when we went there was a big line to get in. So make a reso. The jalapeño margarita was soooo perfect. You should definitely eat here when you're im Santa monica

Ohhhh the food is so delicious here. My friend and I treated ourself to dinner and drinks here a few weeks back, and it's one of the best meals I've had so far in L.A. We started with dip duo (guac and 'choriqueso,' both stellar) and a round of margaritas. I know margaritas, being that my entire family is in... More

Food was really good. One of the best guacamole plates that I've eaten. Drinks were really good, bartender was on point. The margarita was amazing and I've drank many margaritas in many countries. Even the beer was really good. Service was excellent and staff very friendly. The carnitas was amazing 'Slow cooked pork', it just melted in the mouth and... More

Younger crowd on a Sunday night, but our younger kids do well so was fine. Good drinks, food was amazing. Carnitas and Elote were my two favorite, but everything was great. Highly recommend.

Staying in Santa Monica

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
