Delicious pastries, delightful service

Had heard about this place and had the opportunity to visit. Stephanie was an angel and we enjoyed all of the items. Will return. They donate to a Mexican sanctuary for Monarch butterflies.

I've noticed La Monarca before but never really bothered to walk in. I almost didn't this time as I was trying to find the Starbucks that Google said was nearby (I never made it to Starbucks, I think it's in the Vons across the street). I was in front of La Monarca and hesitated to go in because it was... More

La Monarca Bakery celebrates Mexico's baking tradition to its best. If you are in Santa Monica stop by in the morning get a mexican style hot chocolate and a "concha" dip it and sip it slowly it will confort you like a hug from your mother!!! If you a more hungry make time for Molletes... their's are delicious, a lovely... More

This place is really lovely. They have a large selection of delicious pastries that they make in-house. Their coffee was really good, but definitely made me feel a little cracked out. Too strong for me. There isn't too much seating, but there's some.

La Monarca is new to me and was I impressed by the selection and freshness of their stuff. They also serve soups, salads and sandwiches which also looked delicious.

Friendly Staff, great coffee (cafe d oja is my favorite, but is only served in the morning). Love the conchas and wedding cookies too.

The majority of the customers come here for a decent cup of coffee and to use the free wireless internet. Staff is friendly and helpful. Their strawberry shortcake slice was too sweet for my taste. But the box of wedding cookies were excellent. It's a departure from Starbucks and in my neighborhood. Better and less expensive mexican pastries are available... More

Got my daughters birthday cake here. Strawberry organic cake ... Delish. Fresh, light, whipped cream like frosting--i dont usually like frosting but this was great. Other pastries are also super. Highly recommend.

It's nice to go some place other than a typical Starbucks or Coffee Bean for a coffee break and a snack. You self serve yourself from cabinets displaying a variety of choices; something sweeter to a basic fresh roll. They also have a few hot bakery related items that can be ordered and would be considered a light meal. Good... More
