At first I had some doubts about this order-prepare-checkout counter like restaurant, but, man it was good! Nice well prepared steak, spinach w/goatcheese and hazelnut salad, sweetcorn bread, apricot crumble cake, cherry berry, it was good! Now I know why there are lines in front to get in. Do it: wait and get in, you won't regret it!

I very much enjoy going to Tender Greens with my wife, or with friends. The whole process is different from the time you get in line to order your food, to the time, you pay for it. Many people get the process wrong and this is what holds up the line... I have been that person on several occasions. First,... More

Stopped by for an early dinner tonight, no line, great service, delicious food. Can vouch for the albacore tuna sandwich, simple spinach salad and fried cauliflower with romulade. Only complaint - I ate too much!

When you go to a salad place where there is a sense of mass production, concern develops that this is going to be a potentially tasteless experience. I have to say that the Grilled Chicken salad that i had was the best tasting salad i have ever had. The ingredients are fresh and the preparation area is completely transparent as... More

I'm crazy about this place. It has a few more offerings than the Point Loma location - same delicious farm-to-table quality. I usually order the seared albacore tuna plate with veggies and mashed potatoes. Sometimes I'm tempted order a soup of the day with that but I never can finish it all no matter how hungry I am. This place... More

It was self-service in this restaurant, we queued up for 20 minutes to order and another 20 minutes to get our food and pay at counter. We had 2 big salads (didn't look big to us, yet we are light eater) - grilled chicken codd salad and steak salad, total $26 tax included. Both salads looked basic, plain and not... More

I enjoyed salads and ambience. Very good taste. One block from hotel Shangri-la.you can choose whatever you want and sauces and drinks. It is worthwhile to go.

We were looking for a good healthy place for dinner after working out at Equinox in Santa Monica. The hotel recommended Tender Greens. There were a ton options. We got one of the salads and steak. It was all very good. The restaurant also seemed to be very popular with locals too. Always a good sign.

Dont get what all the great reviews are about. Had to wait outside for half an hour to get salad? Bit slow IMHO even at 8pm. The grilled veggies were dried out and missing the squash and snap peas, chicken soup full of veggies etc but lukewarm and rather bland. The salt and pepper chicken was ok, but should have... More
