I ordered "The Manly Burger." It was good, but not great. I think we've been desensitized and spoiled with good burger joints lately. Maybe my bar was raised too high. But you know what was AMAZING - the truffled fries. YUM.

This Santa Monica gem is located inside the Fred Segal Building at Broadway and 5th. They are easy to miss, but if you enter on 5th street there is ample, free parking (a rarity in the Los Angeles area). Their 'manly fries' are to die for. Portion is not huge, but enough for sharing with someone else. A combination of... More

Burgers are great, and their exclusive oxtail burger ranks up in the top 3 burgers I ever had - amazingly juicy and packed with flavors. The side orders are good but not as great as the burgers. Service is friendly and pretty attentive, but be aware the place can get busy and noisy so set your expectations accordingly. As should... More

The burgers are completely awesome (best I’ve ever had?) and the best list is serviceable but nothing more. 9 taps and some good stuff on my visit (Goose Matilda, DFH 90) so yes the beer is very much a side show to the food and not a reason to visit in it’s own right. Can get busy and noisy.

This place came highly recommended by locals we were visiting. It certainly delivered. Nice vibe to the place. Simple but nice. Pretty much any type of burger you could think of. Very flexible with additions or subraction of extras. Nice salads or sides to order. Actually were trying out some tapas offerings. Surprised the place wasn't more crowded, but it... More

Great burgers, tasty and they always cook them perfectly, staff is friendly and it's great to sit outside on the benches when it's warm outside!

This was a wonderful spot to pop in for lunch! Nice selections on the menu, including vegetarian and vegan dishes. We loved the fries too!

Location is confusing especially if you're using Google maps! We're Australian and have never heard of Fred Segal...it's a badly advertised department store. Umami burger is at the back of the store. We persevered as it was recommended by local friends. Definitely worth looking for as the burgers were very tasty. We had the classic and a truffle burger. They're... More
