Casual fine dining in a cool setting with a great menu and fun staff

Excellent food, the burgers are phenomenal, some really interesting cocktails too. Very cool decor, casual, classy and a bit dingily in a good way!

We stopped by on a quick trip to Santa Monica and sat outside on the sidewalk. It's a busy street but it was ok and good people watching. We asked the waitress ( who was very sweet)for suggestions, so we had the Mac and cheese with chorizo, a chicken sandwich with some yummy toppings, and the avocado toast. My husband... More

My daughter and her boyfriend took us out to eat at the Misfit after telling us it was their favorite place in Santa Monica. It took me about 2 bites of the 10 menu items that we ordered to figure out that this place was amazing! We ordered off the menu and planned to share each plate with our table... More

Just go!! Fabulous, fantastic, amazing food, drinks and service. Our new favorite restaurant when we visit Santa Monica. Menu varies slightly day-to-day depending on what's available at the local farmer's market. We had the prime rib French dip and would HIGHLY recommend - it's the best we've every had!! They bring complimentary sea salt chocolate chip cookies to every diner... More

Discovered this place by accident walking up Santa Monica boulevard from ocean drive. Quaint neon sign lured me in. Beautiful restaurant with speakeasy feel. Bustling and vibrant. Pretty people. Ate at bar and was well-attended. Huge specialty drink menu and quirky eclectic good items.

The place looked REALLY dark, and tight , as we had to squeeze between tables, and tried hard not to knock ones spoon off their hands while they were taking a bite. The ladies servers, were nice and they smiled( one was new and under training) I ordered the Misfit Burger, which was light, small ,juicy , but still yummy.... More

We stopped inThe Misfit for lunch (upon the recommendation of a bartender) and had a really nice lunch. The quinoa - kale salad was special and my hamburger was "the best". My wife tuna burger was prepared perfectly. The atmosphere is very well done. The high ceilings accented by rich dad wood gives this restaurant a classic look

Love this local Santa Monica restaurant! Every time I eat here, I am amazed at the flavorful entrees served at this small restaurant! They have a full bar and a nice touch at the end of the meal, they offer you the most amazing chocolate chip/sea salt cookie! Be sure to order the avocado toast, it's so good!

The misfit is located in the oldest building of Santa Monica, this place is small but nice. We were disappointed by the limited menu and the average quality of food. The manager that night had really poor mannerisms with the clientele. This place is really noisy, perfect for a drink but not for dinner. Nice touch is a free cookie... More

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
