Casual upbeat dining . Good menu and good value. Chic vibe for seafood. Is usually packed but I don't think it takes reservations. I think it's worth the wait. Fun place, good seafood.

A very good dinner at Blue Plate - sat on patio with ocean view. Ordered the lobster roll, which was very good, but pricey at $25. They have an extensive seafood menu with may options. Key lime pie for desert was excellent. I last dined here about three years ago, and the meal and service was just as good the... More

Traveling with a service dog can be hard and this restaurant was very difficult The tables are so right next to each other, about 8 inches apart. My dog was great and fit into the small space between the tables. It's very loud inside , can hear everything the people at the next table are talking about. It's hard to... More

This is a great restaurant to visit if you ever are in Santa Monica. At first glance the place looks like a dive. But the food is truly to die for. We had excellent fresh East Coast oysters that were fantastic, and I had the evening's special- Mahi Mahi over linguini and mushrooms with a butter sauce. It sounds simple... More

A small wonderful gem in a sea of restaurant options. Simply prepared and wonderfully fresh. Friendly staff with great recommendations. We had the mussels in white wine and a grilled artichoke for starters (4 people). I would rate the mussels and some of the best I have had locally. Three of use ordered from the 'off the hook' daily fresh... More

I have been to Blue Plate Oysterette several times since moving to Santa Monica almost a year ago. The seafood is always fresh and the service is good. My go to dish is the lobster truffle mac & cheese, OMG it is so good. But be warned it's a big serving so could be a good appetizer to share. I... More

This place is divine. Lovely for a lunch with friends - lobster mac and cheese and glass of wine! Fish tacos great too.

Enjoyed a dozen oysters selection from around the country. All wonderfully fresh served with a really good mignonette that well complemented the oysters. Also had the Ipswich clams, with the bellies for all you East Coasters, that were equal to those I have enjoyed on the Cape. Very good service and try the Key Lime pie.....oh man!

I'd heard excellent word of mouth and was therefore keen to try it. As I was by myself I was sat at the bar where service was actually better than what you typically get when sitting at the bar. Limited wine list for by the glass but the Riesling was nice and paired with the food well. The prawn cocktail... More
