We haven't been there in a while, but this place has awesome food and the best lobster roll west of the Mississippi River. If in Santa Monica, awesome place to go

Possibly the best Lobster Rolls on the west coast. My friend goes crazy over the mussels in curry with coconut rice. Don't forget the homemade key lime pie, one is enough for 4.

This is an amazing restaurant in Santa Monica that is laid back, small and excellent. The food is perfectly done, everything is delicious! You have to ignore the occasional actor; but, it is hard to ignore the staff (whom appear to have been selected for their winning genetic lottery tickets!) The lobster roll, the chowder, the raw bar, fish taco,... More

It looked good - alfresco tables across the road from the beach, enticing menu, friendly staff. All good until the food - disappointing to taste and to look at and poor value. What a shame.

Lied to us. Made us wait two hours longer than they said and then gave our table away. Tried to seat us at the bar with our 7 year old child. Never again!

If you're looking for an East Coast like seafood place, go to Blue Plate Oysterette. You can get a legitimate Lobster Roll, and very good steamers. The restaurant is located right on Ocean Ave, so you can't beat the location. And the service is really good.

Situated along Ocean Avenue (just off Pacific Coast Hwy) and facing Palisades Park, the Blue Plate Oysterette is a charming venue for casual dining. We had dinner there with friends, and the bill for the four of us was under $100. They have a wonderful selection of raw oysters and draft and bottled beers. Fresh and varied seafood is on... More

We ordered a total of 4 dishes: clam chowder, clamari, boujjibouise, and truffle lobster mac and cheese. The clam chowder was only rated 5/10. The calamari (7/10) was really good and had interesting toppings and its own special dipping sauces. The boujibouise (6/10) was a good portion and had nice flavor, but there wasnt much in it. The mac and... More

We went to the Blue Plate Oysterette for an early dinner last week due to the good TripAdvisor reviews. Unfortunately we were disappointed by the end. The positives of this restaurant are the very good location and the dessert (the lime tart), which actually was very tasty. The staff was friendly too, although a little forgetful (we had to ask... The Blue Plate Oysterette serves a wide range of fresh seafood. We particularly like their salmon, calamari, crab cakes, lobster salad and coleslaw. They do have more exotic entrees. It''s small and popular with a full spectrum of patrons: young singles, older adults and families with children. We prefer to avoid peak lunch or dinner times, when it can be... More
