Amazing fries!!

Lovely lunch in a brilliant location. The food was very good. Suits a range of different people: as there are light salads or bigger meals, like burgers, for the more hungry.

This used to be the Budda's Belly and is stil lowned by the same people. It's very welcoming and is light and airy and a great addition to Santa Monica. It's a bar, a restaurant, a place to nip in or stay all day or night, it;s just a great place. Over the period of a week we went in... More

Discovered this place after we had already eaten a snack. However, couldn't resist the sriracha wings with blue cheese. Before you go thinking that I've described sports bar fair ,hang on. I love sriracha so I chose the wings which were served with a thick quality blue cheese sauce. The menu, both food and drink, was varied, creative, and enticing.... More

A group of workmates went for an early dinner at 7pm. We ordered cocktails (decent) and wine (superb, although the waitress didn't know that Paso Robles was domestic...), before ordering some chili fries to share and appetisers for each person. My food arrived quite quickly - rack of lamb, which was very good, although the portion size was poor for... More

We stopped in here for a few drinks on our way out. I liked the industrial style and minimal interiors, as well as the feature bar. We sat at the bar and just enjoyed a couple of drinks. The music was upbeat and it wasn't too noisy. We didn't eat, but the food looked decent. Maybe next time.

We were in Santa Monica and went to The Independence after shopping on the walking promenade. We were surprised by the ambiance and great, inventive menu. Fun place, good food, and great bar. Will be back again

One of the best pad thai I've had! I visited this restaurant since one of the locals recommended it. Nice place with friendly staff, but the best is by far the food - very delicious.

We used to come here quite a bit when it opened. Nowadays the service is so rude that it's just not worth it. There are plenty of other locations to get "Asian" food in this area. The last time we came in there was an issue with our order. We brought it up to the manager and they basically told... More

Staying in Santa Monica

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
