This is the home town steak house tourists don't get to hear about! Food, drinks, atmosphere, and service are always spot on! Try their to die for ribeye, prime rib and pork chops (don't forget the apple sauce with the chops!). Only tid bit, don't go for the artichoke app, way better at the Hitching Post in Casmilia, will only... More

My husband and I just returned from "The Swiss" and I couldn't wait to write this review. I had the ribeye steak and my husband had the prime rib. We both agreed that both of our meals were one of the best beef meals we had ever had out. Yes the outside looks a bit rustic, but the food and... More

My wife has the Filet Oscar, said it really, really good! I had the top sirloin and it was great too! My Cadillac Margarita was very good, but my wife's pomegranate martini was too sweet even though she specifically asked for it not to be. They provide ALL the Classic fixings-beans, bread, etc. Prices are reasonable compared to some of the other... More

Unless you knew that this is a really good restaurant, you would never go there, but.... The food is really good. The quantities are generous. My wife ordered a steak, and loved it. I had chicken which was well seasoned. The restaurant is popular, and crowded. Make a reservation.

The restaurant is now called The Swiss. We have had several very good steak dinners at the Swiss. I understand that it is now under new ownership. I am happy to say that the quality was still high. The barbecued rib eye was delicious and served with a crisp green salad and a choice of sides. There are always beans... More

This restaurant is part bar, part restaurant and is deceiving from the outside. By far the best steak I've ever had. Recommended by a young gentleman working at the Best Western Hotel

Don't know how they got the name screwed up but the Swiss Chalet is a Canadian restaurant chain and this place is The Swiss Restaurant. Good meats that are BBQ'd over oak wood. Ribs were very meaty and smokey but with a minimum of sauce ( provided on the side) to let the smokey flavor come through. We liked it... More

Food is very good, nice big bar with dancing weekends, plenty of parking. On N Broadwey near Santa Maria Inn hotel, well worth a visit.

I grew up in Santa Maria, and have enjoyed many of the restaurants that serve BBQ. In my opinion, the Swiss, as its known by locals, is one of the top 3 in town. It has a very casual atmosphere, with great wait staff and trust me, you;ll love the food.

This used to be called the Swiss Chalet but is now called the Swiss. It is a small charming restaurant owned and operated by a young couple with many years experience in the industry. There ribeye bbq'd over red oak rivals Jocko's in Nipomo. You won't be disappointed. We are "locals" and eat here very often, Lunch and dinner.
