This used to be called the Swiss Chalet but is now called the Swiss. It is a small charming restaurant owned and operated by a young couple with many years experience in the industry. There ribeye bbq'd over red oak rivals Jocko's in Nipomo. You won't be disappointed. We are "locals" and eat here very often, Lunch and dinner.

Although the (new) Swiss Chalet restaurant is in a shabby building with a tacky parking lot, and the inside ambience seems murky despite unshielded lights, the quality of the menu/food and the friendliness of the wait-staff make it an enjoyable experience. I relish going there!!

This restaurant has the best Rib eye cooked over red oak going. the ambiance is little bit to be desired but if you want a good steak this is it. AT this time it is rivaling Hitching Post and Jockos for value and quality.

I have been a frequent of the Swiss for years. The recient change in Managment is not a dissapointment. Usually when a favorite place changes it's not always welcome. This is not the case here. It has made the experience better. Still a great bar and the menu and food are better. For berakfast or dinner a super good place.... More

Swiss Chalet has a great menu cover both surf and turf alone with a few other great dishes, The bar is top notch (no water down drink here) good dinning atmosphere and excellent for groups of 10 or more too. One of my most go to places to eat out in Santa Maria, CA

This restaurant was recommended by our hotel. It was tasty. It is a cute place, that has the option to sit in the bar or restaurant. The steak was fantastic, too much to eat at one time. I had to order a doggie bag. I really enjoyed this Steakhouse ,and will return when I am in the area.

I went twice to give it another try. The meat was so gross I got sick on it. I ordered the ribs. Didn't know you could mess those up. The next time I went it was just as gross. The area is really nasty too.

I came here with my family on a reservation, we were a few minutes late, but they still seated us right away. As others have said on here, to some people the location/parking lot can be a little shady, but don't let that fool you from the inside of the restaurant. The place feels a little dated, but looking around... More

The drinks were great, the jalapeno appetizer was delicious, the asparagus was perfect but the steak was phenomenal. It was cooked perfect, I could cut it with a fork, and the best part was that it tasted great.
