Well, first, I have to say that the staff was super friendly and made room for a group of 7 in just a few minutes. We did not wait very long and we didn't have reservations. I got a chicken sandwich with mushrooms grilled onions and peppers, but the chicken was very bland. Ordered Parmesan garlic fries, but they didn't... More

Food was outstanding!.. good sized portions and the avocado fries were made to perfection. The food had great flavor and was just an absolute treasure of a place to eat at... However, the service was pretty bad. We were waiting for a table for about 45 minutes when it honestly didn't need to take that long if certain tables were... More

Very possible this place is deserving of 5 Stars, but I've only been here once. If Trip Advisor would let me I'd give it a 4.5. FOOD It was hard to choose, there's many great-looking things on the menu. I went with the special, which was Chipotle Sliders - beef patty mixed with onions, cheddar, and chipotle; then topped with... More

It was one of the best tasting burgers I have ever had. Small, funky place, but the servers were all very nice.

I went to Santa Cruz for a hot, sunny, spring break vacation. The trip was lovely, and the people of the city were friendly and informative. We decided to try Surfrider Cafe for dinner on the evening of Tuesday April 1, 2014. The food was excellent, however the service was wretched. I ordered a Diet Coke and a water to... More

My family and I found ourselves in Santa Cruz during an impromptu Saturday drive. I read review for several different restaurants in the area and chose this one. We did not regret it. I am now obsessed with avocado fries! The staff was attentive and knowledgeable and the food and beer were delicious.

When I visit my son in Santa Cruz, we always spend one evening eating at Surfrider Cafe. We really enjoy everything about a dinner at Surfrider. I recently had a very reasonably priced burger for $7.00 plus $2 for the side of Sweet Potatoe Fries, which are thick cut and delicious! The meat is cooked perfectly at medium rare and... More

Surfrider is always a great inexpensive place to go before a movie or just for fun. I like all of their salads and their sandwiches are fine. Unfortunately, none of us were into the avocado fries. The texture and the taste were blah. We all love avo's but I guess we love 'em fresh. Otherwise, we give them a thumbs... More

We were a party of seven at the dinner hour. Plenty of good choices on the menu, busy, lighthearted atmosphere. Servers were eager and pleasant, food was good and also plenty. Good place for eating and catching-up.

Boulder Creek Brewery's twin means excellent beers on tap. Great burgers and appetizers - fried pickles YUM. Lively atmosphere, friendly and fun.
