Great place for a meal!

Walked the length of the pier to check out the views and the seals! Since it was quite early, most shops were closed except for the fish market and Gilda's. On the way back, we stopped at Gilda's for breakfast and chose the "Construction Worker" breakfast - 2 eggs, 2 bacon, 2 sausage and 2... read more

This is an old fashioned surf-n-turf diner on the wharf. Simple food-no California cuisine- but fresh and delicious. I eat here all the time and just love it. Average age of customers seems to be about Methusala's age and I'm guessing most have eaten here their whole lives. Wonderful place to eat among all the touristy restaurants.

Gilda's has been run by the Stagnaro family for years. It has a wonderful view, good food, and their Prime Rib night has people lined up out the door. Dino and Malio Stagnaro are great hosts in the family tradition. Center of the Municipal Wharf.

We met friends and cousins two evenings at this restaurant and really enjoyed our food and the service, as well as the view. We all had various forms of seafood, and all were nicely done. I would go there again!

Always have to stop at Gilda's whenever we are in Santa Cruz. Friendly, bustling staff and we always get a window table to watch the surfers, wind surfers, stand up surfers, etc. Lunch was good. Deep fried oysters--medium size with some cornmeal in the breading. Just right, a bit juicy, slightly salty and acidy. Substituted rice pilaf for fries, another... More

This restaurant has been on the wharf for many generations. It is a modest and old coffee shop type atmosphere. Many of the staff are seasoned servers. The food is simple breakfast and basic seafood menu dining. They provide the freshest vegetables and salads and their coney island chowder is excellent. The high point is their weekly daily specials that... More

Wow, great place to watch a storm. Right in it, waves were awesome to see and feel! Had a great lunch with wonderful service all at a reasonable price. This place is not pretentious. Just comfortable and family friendly. Our hostess was wonderful with the kids. Highly recommend this place to those of us who just want to have a... More

There are specials every day, but my favorite is eggs benedict on Sunday morning. They are not on the menu, so you have to ask and they only serve them on Sundat. Call for reservations if you want to sit and see the ocean

Average breakfast -nothing special here. The food was good but the waitress spent lots of time conversing with the locals at the counter. Husbands meal was missing the sausage so they did take off the cost of the coffee which was nice of them to do. This restaurant is clean and average price. Was a little disappointed that their hash... More
