Great location and nice portions

The location was great at the end of the wharf, and the outside seating was nice. the food portions were huge. The three fish tacos come with rice and beans (a lot of each) and the tacos are large as well. The one complaint is that the chipotle sauce is so spicy, and there is so much of it, it... read more

In my opinion, the best place to eat in Santa Cruz. If it's not too cold, the takeout window is the best value and, weirdly, their version of the traditional fried clams, chowder bread bowl is better than what you get inside. Enjoy the barks of sea lions basking on the pier beneath you, you can peek at them through... More

Following a Segway tour with Segway Santa Cruz, we opted for dinner at the end of the wharf at The Dolphin. We had a party of 10 including young kids and everyone found something they liked. The service was fantastic and the food was hot and delicious. The portions were good sized and priced right. They have both indoor and... More

We're so glad you loved the location and thought the portions were great! It's a bummer to hear the sauce was a little spicy for your taste, though -- we encourage you to let your server know next time so we can take care of that for you! We'd love to see you again while you're in town. All our... More

Santa Cruz municipal warf is one of the last wharfs I know of with active restaurants, car traffic and lots going on. At the end of the wharf is the Dolphin, an old school fish fry restaurant with some good seafood... My table mates had the seafood chowder and calamari, while I had the scallops. Chowder was good, with various... More

I decided to walk over to Scontriano's for take out lunch to bring back to my hotel. They had amazing Clam chowder and I tried a Po' boy for the first time and really enjoyed it. Large portions to share in my opinion. We are not big eaters. You wont be disappointed.

I was afraid the location would mean this was a touristy place with a great view and mediocre food, but I was pleasantly surprised! We were one of 3 or 4 tables, on a winter week-day, in the quaint wharf-diner, seated amongst all locals! The Fisherman's breakfast was tasty and the French Toast was wonderfully flavorful--probably the best I've had... More

My husband and I went here for dinner and shared their fish tacos which was huge. It came with three fish taco each with a large delicious crunchy piece of fish and rice and refried beans. You also had a choice of clam chowder (either Manhattan or New England) or a salad. It is rare that Manhattan clam chowder is... More

We went on the off season and it wasn't crowded at all. Got a table outside with a lovely view of the water. There is a glass enclosure which protects the outside eating area from any wind. I enjoyed the shrimp melt sandwich- was very good, just a little too runny- my husband really enjoyed the fried shrimp po-boy and... More

This place was recommended by a friend and I'm so glad we came here to eat as it was lovely. It's at the end of the pier and we went for breakfast so it was not too busy. The waitress was really friendly and helpful. The food was excellent and child friendly as well. We all had a good breakfast... More
