This is as good as ice cream gets, and yes it is worth the wait. The line actually goes pretty quick. None of these patrons are counting their calories as they go up to one of the friendly employees and order away one of the gazillion flavors of ice cream and toppings, whip cream...it's heaven...and a must for ice cream... WOW, fabulous ice cream. We read the reviews and decided to give it a try! Yep, it was worth it, delicious ice cream and everything mad with ice-cream. We do love to eat this delicious dairy confection in every form and we will be back next time we are in Santa Cruz!

The most incredible choice of ice cream flavours I've ever seen anywhere! A sensible ticketing system on arrival means service is given fairly and the opportunity to " try before you buy" means you end up with what could be called a "designer" dessert! A winter visit found the shop packed full of people so a well-deserved, great reputation, was... More

Marianne's is a wonderful, somewhat old-fashioned ice cream shop. The flavors are rich, the butterfat remains on your tongue after you've swallowed your bite, and it's just nice to see some place that doesn't mess with success. Marianne's ice cream has some air, or "overrun" in it, to make it easy to scoop. Virtually all ice cream has this. But... More

Red barn = ice cream in Santa Cruz. We chose not to sample and went straight for the most popular option, the 10-20. At first it tasted like a chocolatey, cookies and cream but with a couple more licks of that sugary cone you get to the real goodness, the caramel ice cream, thick fudge and real oreo cookies -... Normally a little wait in the summer, but quality of ice cream makes it worth it. These folks supply a lot of restaurants in Santa Cruz.

Great service and ready to give you lots of samples to make up your mind. They need to, as they have so many great flavors and many are unusual. Worth a stop.

I visited the Aptos location in July for a family treat and it was great. The scoopers work tirelessly and are courteous and helpful. The ice cream is delish!

We are soooo lucky to have three fabulous ice cream makers right in SC county and I love em all. Mariannes is bigger, and easier to get to as many grocery stores like Aptos Natural Foods, Deluxe, Staff of Life and others tend to carry them, but some also carry Polar Bear which is great! And the new kid on... More
