Went back recently for dinner. Unfortunately it was a disappointment. I ordered the clams and mussels. The clams were the size of an eraser at the end of a pencil. Seeing that they are one of the seafood providers for the area, I expected more. They were minuscule. I've actually never seen clams this tiny. The chowder was okay. Extremely... More

An excellent last meal before driving up the coast road and then to San Francisco airport after two weeks in San Francisco and around. I had Ernesto's seafood linguine, and my wife had red snapper, both good. Service was good in the busy restaurant, and we sat by a window with a view of the sea.

Would have given them only two stars but we did like the prawn tacos, the view and our friendly server. Liked: view, friendly server, cilantro-lime prawn tacos Disliked/very disappointed in: mediocre clam chowder appetizer which the menu said was "Award Winning" but was more like an off-brand (or industrial) canned soup, and the cup was smaller than expected; small shrimp... A visit to Stagnaro's is always on my list when in Santa Cruz. It''s at the very end of the wharf with a wonderful view and is a nicely done restaurant. Not overly fancy or elegant, but still classy. I prefer upstairs as it's a little quieter and has a more panoramic view. The food ain't cheap, but you certainly... More

This seafood place is at the end of the Santa Cruz wharf, with incredible views of surfers, sailors and sea lions. Best for lunch I think--their fish sandwich is really good. They have their own fishing boats and a seafood store next door. Great place to take visitors, and after lunch walk around and view the wildlife.

went for dinner, place seemed busy. Service was slow. We both thought the sea food did not seem as fresh as other places we'd been. The clam chowder was just ok. I enjoyed lunch the next day much better at a place down the way.

We walked along the pier and encountered Stagnaro Bros. Seafood. From the outside - nothing to look at - but are we glad we stepped inside! Our party of four ate upstairs by the wide open window - the breezes and view were magnificent. It happened to be happy hour - drinks $4.00 and beer $1.00. We were served fresh... More

Went for dinner there on a Monday night. Place has great views but I really thought the food should have been much better. Clam Chowder tasted closer to biscuits and gravy and the fish in the Fish and Chips was bland and tasteless. One from my party ordered Salmon and said it was very average.

When you eat on a wharf in California, you are eating at the tourist-focused restaurant. That means a seafood restaurant that does not depend on locals to support it, has ok food, caters to families, charges higher prices than usually deserved, and quickly turns over tables. All that said, we went in with our eyes open. For an adult party,... More
