We were looking for a restaurant with a view, in walking distance from our condo, and with indoor seating. We had a good meal at Johnny's. We chose fish off the "local" fresh list and were pleased with the meals. The appetizers, artichokes 2 ways, and a seafood stuffed avacado were good; the avacado could have been a bit riper.... More

The restaurant let us have a window corner table and hold it while we were waiting for friends from San Francisco to arrive. The service was very good, and the harborside view nice, although there is no outdoor seating. The place is on the middle-high side for food prices. The Bloody Marys were only $5, but appeared to have no alcohol.... More

My wife and I decided to try this restaurant on the advise of Trip Advisor reviews. We weren't 't disappointed! Huge portions, great service and their small desserts were homemade and delicious.

We enjoy going to Johnny's Harborside; food is generally quite good and fresh. They also have a a variety of prices - for example, you can get a very good sandwich with a great salad for about $15 or you can go all out and have a multi course fish dinner. They offer a "bite size" menu for dessert -... More

Although the food took long to get to our table, the very flavorful dishes and large portions was worth the wait. Besides our server, Devin, informed us they were short on staff. We had a beautiful view overlooking the fishing fleet and enjoyed seeing the freshly caught salmon being brought to port. We began with fried calamari served with an... More

Johnny's was a great find! I had a feeling it would be a great spot when I read the hand written sandwich board "We're Totally Open!" We had a few options, some from the reg and some from the happy hour menus. All good! Do yourself a favor and stop by. The happy hour prices for food and drink are... More

I always go to Johnny' harbor side when I'm in Santa Cruz, it's outstanding, and a great value. Well, I just fount out that on Mondays, they have a three-course dinner menu that includes a wine pairing for just $20 per person. The crab cake appetizer was out of this word! I had cod over polenta with some perfectly sautéed... More

Went for lunch and enjoyed the seafood tacos. More than just fish on them. You get three large tacos so be hungry if you order! Tasty Bloody Mary well worth the $5. With a table by the window you can see the boats bringing in the fresh catch of the day.

we came across this restaurant driving around Santa Cruiz in the early January this year, trying to find a place where locals eat. The two storied building sits right on the dok where fishing boats unload "catch of the day" so they have a black board in the restaurant where the staff chalk in new arrivals. Awesome freshness of everything.... More
