Probably the Best Breakfast in Santa Cruz

This place has been around forever, and the owner, Linda has been around even longer, having opened the now "meh" Linda's cafe in SeaBreeze which retains the name even though her former business partner ended up with it as the story goes. We've been here probably two dozen times, my wife and I... read more

There's good reason why the Spur always has guests - great food and wonderful friendly service. My Canadian Bacon Scramble was excellent; The coffee drinkers are always happy and also like the atmosphere.

Perfect diner! A large group met up here before heading down Highway 1. They were able to accommodate us at 2 large tables. The food was great and served fast and hot. Friendly staff and great specials. The huevos rancheros, corned beef hash, and homemade pancakes were delicious. The atmosphere was classic American western diner. Perfect start to our California... Ourstanding family-owned restaurant. The BEST breakfast you will find in Santa Cruz! There is always a wait, but it is worth every minute ... once you get in the waitress or waiter brings you coffee right away and ,if you are ready, takes your order. The food is fabulous and portions are generous. Coffee is always kept hot and full.... More

There are not many breakfast/ lunch restaurants in small towns that are on a waiting list at 10:30am on a Wednesday. Silver Spur packs them in day after day and now I know why. They have all the traditional American breakfast food you would expect along with more than 10 daily specials to choose from. Who has daily breakfast specials?!?!... More

I was very disappointed. I ordered the Veggie Scramble and it was flavorless. It tasted like frozen vegetables were poured out of a bag into a skillet then 1 egg was stirred in. The potatoes that were served on the side were not cut small enough and therefore were undercooked. My husband ordered the Hoppy's Burrito which also contained undercooked... More

Loved the breakfast here! Ordered the blueberry pancakes and they were delicious! Kids menu minimal, but has the basics (pancakes, eggs, etc).

For quality, value and service, you can't beat the Silver Spur. This restaurant is open for breakfast and lunch and is one of the Best breakfast restaurants in the Santa Cruz area....it's always busy, and on Saturday, prepare to wait. They have a self-service coffee bar to make your wait more pleasant. Their staff is always happy, pleasant and helpful.... More

This is the best breakfast in Santa Cruz, along with the red Apple in Aptos. The portions are more than generous, you can make free substitutions (a wonderful, huge blueberry pancake instead of toast; actually fresh, ripe fruit instead of potatoes). You can even get half eggs, half good tofu for no extra charge. They make their own delicious salsa... More

We were told this place has the best pancakes in town and that this was an excellent place to go. There were lots of people there ~ but the food didn't look good going by and our opinion wasn't changed when we had our breakfast (pancakes and sausage, and a waffle). Prices didn't reflect quality of food - much more... More
