One of the 'go to' breakfast places in Santa Cruz. Depending on timing, usually a short wait. Food is good, and ambiance is typical busy breakfast place.

We stopped here for a family breakfast. Everything was good from the scrambles to the Benedicts. Friendly service and casual atmosphere. A fine place to stop for breakfast. Nothing super special, but nothing bad.

Our family stopped by for breakfast. Eggs Benedict recommended by waitress was below par; muffin soft/mushy, not toasted near enough. Hollandaise sauce lacked rich, flavorful texture/taste one would expect--quite bland and pedestrian at best. The hot chocolate was quite bitter. If you want a crowded, feed em lots, mass produced experience, then this is for you.

I had the special with eggs zucchini, pesto, mushrooms and cheese. Good variety for the menu, salads, sandwiches. Big portions.

When I lived in Santa Cruz I would go here all the time. Now that I'm just a visitor I tried it out and love the place all over again. Great multi-grain pancakes and omelets not to mention their other fare.

Me and the 4 kids really enjoyed our breakfast. Good food, great service and the price wasn't too bad either.

Great location downtown. Friendly staff right pace of service and great selection of tasty foods NOT a run of the milk cafe. Try it

The breakfast was so good my 11 yr old son wanted to eat there twice in our four day trip. The food was delicious, atmosphere was lovely, and the staff was very friendly. Seemed to be a popular place for breakfast but our wait was very short during the middle of the week.

Always crowded is a good sign that the food is good. During my UCSC days and when I visit the Cruz I go to walnut cafe for breakfast. The food is fresh and oh so good. Try anything you won't be disappointed.

The wait time to get a table can be long. If you have the time and you aren't starving, this is one of the best breakfast spots downtown.
