We are locals who don't mind the wait for an extraordinary breakfast. Food is always excellent. Potatos are fried with onions instead of peppered with papricka. Benedicts are exceptional with eggs poached just right and the best Hollandaise. Several options from original to tuna and florentine. Coffee is excellent as is the service. Couple secrets: you can do half orders... More

The food was fabulous and the environment even better! We enjoyed everything about this place. We chose to eat here for breakfast 2 mornings in a row! We had the Huevos Mexicanos and French Toast. Brought us back the next morning for more!

We noticed a crowd around the entrance to the Walnut Avenue Cafe last Sunday and decided to give it a try. After about a 15 minute wait we were seated and were enjoying a tasty cup of coffee. I ordered the teriyaki chicken sandwich with salad and my husband had the chorizo breakfast scramble, and both were delicious. I particularly... More

We ate breakfast here once while staying in Santa Cruz a few days. It looks like a place the locals frequent. The food was good and the service as well. Parking was a little tough since it's downtown. If we ever come back to Santa Cruz, we'd eat here again.

Excellent breakfast, crowded, noisy. I had the shrimp, tomato, cheese scramble which was fantastic. The potatoes were very good, just too much to eat. My husband had the eggs benedict which he said was very good, also.

One of my favorite places to have breakfast in Santa Cruz. Everything on the menu is great. You might have to wait for table because it is so popular. The food is worth the wait. I highly recommend The Walnut Avenue Cafe, It has great food and a friendly staff.

Breakfast and lunch menu covers a wide variety of dietary needs. Portions are generous. Great food! There is usually a line but efficient service enables the line to move quickly. The staff is good about making changes to menu items as well. Highly recommend!

We stopped in for breakfast. On a Wednesday morning the place was PACKEDA...every table taken. But service was prompt and friendly, the egg dishes were uniformly excellent, and the prices reasonable. Highly recommended l.

This place has a breakfast and lunch menu of typical American fare. At noon on a weekday, it was mobbed with very few tourists in sight. Park in the garage down the street; it's easier than feeding coins to the meters on the street.
