The food is amazing, but what really sets this place apart for me is the friendly service. Santa Cruz is the land of grumpy waitresses, but I always get a genuine smile from the staff at the Walnut Avenue Café.

Just went here this morning for breakfast....all I can say is Delicious!! I had the feta tomato and basil scramble and my boyfriend had the avocado mushroom and cheese scramble, both of which were excellent!! You won't be disappointed if you eat here!

Great place to eat!! They have the best garlic fries here!! This place also has a full bar, excellent beer on tap....many many many different types of beer and wines selection. I Like this place alot. and they also have outdoor seating!! :)

My husband and I come here at least once a week for breakfast and occasionally for lunch. We've tried many other restaurants in the area over the past ten years and, hands down, this is the winner. We waited 5 minutes for a table on Saturday at 2:00. The only restaurant in the vicinity with a wait--typically a good sign. The service was good, but our patty-melt and veggie burger were average at best. The menu is skewed toward breakfast, which I am guessing is the Walnut Avenue Cafe's speciality.

Great breakfast food. Coffee was bold. Breakfast potatoes are amazing. Tomato and shrimp eggs Benedict are a new favorite. Hostess was very nice. Server was a little slow but I've heard that's common for the Santa Cruz scene.
