Mmmmmmmm

Mid-morning, midweek in winter. Walked right in and had a choice of tables. Cheerful, very efficient service. Kind of kitschy decor. I had a scramble-- mushroom, cheese, avocado-- with fruit on the side. I didn't leave a scrap on my plate! My husband ordered the eggs Benedict, which was made more... read more

Do not pass this place up if you are anywhere new Soquel or Capitola or Santa Cruz. The food was fabulous. I had the Huevos Rancheros which were excellent. The service was great. Long counter service if just single or a couple. Just a tad loud but it was busy.

gotta give this place 5-stars. great menu selections, reasonable service, decent ambience. we ate here twice for lunch during our stay in santa cruz, and it never failed us. based on other choices made in the area in the past, this place shines. good veggie options as well.

I read many reviews about this place, so I made a special trip to try it out. The reviews were accurate, the wait was what I anticipated for a popular place and the food did not disappoint me. We had a friendly waitress with a cute smile and a happy disposition. I would definitely go back.

They open at 8 on weekends. By 8:20 you will be waiting for a table with quite a few others. Take the hint. We got here at just before 8 and got a seat right when they opened. Service was excellent and food was delicious! My wife and daughter had benedicts with shrimp and such and raved. I had the... More

You must try the breakfast. I had frenchtoast with fried bananas and walnuts. It came with syrup but I didn't even need to use it. The homemade potatoes are very good. I want to go back and try lunch. The dishes I saw looked delicious.

We loved the scrambles! Served all the time too. We enjoyed the homey cooking and they must feed the staff happy pills. Great energy from the staff. Oh yeah the sandwiches were good too. Good value and super busy at lunch.

I read positive things about this place, so I planned a trip here with another couple hoping to have a great experience...and we did. There was about a 10 minute wait...because the place was clearly in high demand. The server's were friendly and the service was great. The food was awesome, I'm definitely coming back.

Hollandaise sauce is amazing. Service and food never disappoint! Often a wait unless you get there before 8am. Their scrambles are delicious too, especially any made with avocado. Great location in downtown Santa Cruz with easy (paid) parking.

We love the Walnut Avenue Café. We have been going to this restaurant for breakfast off and on for the past 15 years. The food is very good and they have a selection of anything one could possibly want to have for an American breakfast. The juices are fresh squeezed, the breakfast potatoes are delicious. They are famous for their... More
