Our family went there for a great breakfast! Good selection, so many options. With hungry teenagers, there was plenty for them to eat! Great service, very friendly.

Walnut Avenue Cafe is a great local spot serving only breakfast and lunch. The food is excellent and there's a great variety from breakfast served all day to a nice variety of sandwiches and salads. Everything is fresh and well prepared, but the last severalt imes I've been there, the service has been extremely slow. If you're not in a... More

Not only that I got an amazing customer service from Sally, but the Blackened Ahi Benedict is uber delicious and filling to my tummy! I did not give Walnut Avenue Cafe an excellent mark because the poached eggs were slightly over cooked and the home fries were definitely super crispy...they were burnt, sadly! I asked for super crispy but I... More

Finding a restaurant for breakfast can often be challenging, but every website I visited pointed to the Walnut Avenue Cafe. Boy were they right! It is on a downtown side street half a block off of Pacific Avenue. We knew that it was special when we entered. First, it has a small outside eating area that is perfectly situated for... More

The food here is excellent - I typically order a vegetarian omelette, which is cooked properly (I like mine a bit browned) and the right size, not huge. Potatoes are very good as well. Bagels, unfortunately, are Lenders (I asked), not local, as they could be (a good bagel place is a few blocks away), so you might want to... More

In virtually every visit to Santa Cruz we end up having at least one breakfast at the Walnut Avenue Cafe. The attention is professional and quick, and the food is solid and well made. This time around, I enjoyed my Huevos Rancheros, without the Carnitas, served over a great combination of beans, roasted peppers and salsa (for my taste, the... More

Returning from Monterey by way of Santa Cruz has afforded us the opportunity to dine at the Walnut Avenue Cafe. The florentine eggs were the best I've ever had. My husband enjoyed the Old Number 1 Scramble and loved it. Portions are generous; coffee delicious and service was friendly. We will make this our go-to stopping point every trip to... More

If you want to have a fabulous brunch come here. Their food is top notch, especially their Eggs Benedict. The eggs are always cooked perfectly. They do get very busy especially during the weekend and I've had to wait over an hour for a table so be prepared for that.

Solid service, great skillet meals like turkey avocado scramble. The patio is a nice spot with the few tables available. Lunch is a worthy time to visit as well, but for breakfast look no further.

We went here for Mothers Day brunch. The service was impeccable, that's the only reason Im giving 3stars. The home fries were some what burnt, and under cooked. As will as pancakes. They gave us toast unbuttered, and than have to ask for butter. The omelet wasn't very good, undercooked. And I have never been to a cafe that didnt... More
