Terrific food - huge portions

Lucked into this Greek restaurant on a recent trip. Food was excellent and the portions were obscene. Roasted cauliflower was great, great, great. Everything else was very good to excellent. Kind of out of the way, but worth seeking out.

We found parking a challenge but we're happy with the friendly greeting and great, child-friendly service. We ordered the saganaki but we're told they couldn't flame it table side. Even though that was dissapointing, it tasted great. The Lamb special was fall-off-the-bone tender but the veggies and rice were so-so. We were shocked that the bill for two kids and... More

Stopped in here for lunch. Have been here before, but not for a long time. I will be back sooner for sure! Everything about the meal was a delight. The service was impeccable. I had the vegetarian plate which had a Greek salad, spanakopita, dolomites and pita with your choice of dip, I chose the tahini. All were tasty and... More

Love this place! Eat here once a week. Souvlaki and meatball are fantastic. So is the Greek salad! The ambiance could use an update. But I don't go there for the ambiance. Yum just thinking about it..

We probably eat here a couple times a month. It's kind of Diner-esque with a Greek decorating flavor including ancient pictures of bygone patrons just above the table tops. They are usually doing a brisk business and the wait staff is efficient and friendly. But what inspires me to write are two dishes that I especially enjoy: 1) Souvaki sandwick... More

This place is great. The lemon chicken soup is amazing. All of the dishes are great with massive portions of meat. Super consistent.

My wife and I love Greek food, and happened upon Vasili's while passing through Santa Cruz en route from Monterey to Half Moon Bay on Hwy. 1. Parking was a challenge, but we found the dining room to be spacious and warm. We ordered saganaki (flaming cheese) as an appetizer, and it was quite a show (see photo) and more... More

I wasn`t expecting to find a greek restaurant in a "surf" environment as Santa Cruz ... nor I was looking for . My wife spotted it as we passed by . We were already late for lunch and starving , and though it was past 3 pm , the waiter kindly invited us in . What a great suprise !... More

I ate the Wednesday chicken dinner special and was pleased with the delicate lemon flavor. I think it may be more suited to the lunch crowd, but we enjoyed a respite from rich foods and heavy sauces. Parking is very limited both on the property and public sites nearby. We were fortunate to find a spot, but the restaurant had... More
