The standard items come out pretty well in our experience, and the starter spreads with bread and the desserts taste like they should.

The lamb gyro was actual lamb meat rather than ground and it was so good!! Also the garlic fries were amazing! We happened by it on accident but were pleasantly surprised. Recommend

I eat at Vasili's every weekend, good delicious food, prices and excellent service! My favorites are the Maroulosalata, chicken kebab, pita with tzatziki dip, lemon chicken rice soup, and the Dolmathes. Oh, they also have awesome french fries - caution the small is actually a big portion! If you like Greek you try Vasili's at least once! Tip: You can... More

We were looking for the other Greek restaurant, and by mistake saw directions for this one. Since we were very hungry, decided to give it a try....Not a good decision. Food mediocre at the best. Vegetables from the freezer - not heated enough to thaw out. Tomato sauce (?) from a can that surrounded the vegetables was weak and there... More

Best Greek food ever! The souvakli plate is wonderful. I could eat it every day. The tzatziki is not traditional but delicious. Get it with the pita bread.

Meat on a gyro is supposed to be lamb thinly sliced, almost shaved. This was thick chunks, tasted like pot roast. Disappointing.

My friend and I decided to try this place again, haven't been here for a couple years. It was a really hot day outside and as we entered the restaurant we immediately noticed there was no air conditioning and that it was even hotter inside than outside, but we decided stay and sweat it out. We both had the lamb... More

We found Vasili's on Yelp while vacationing in the area. They had the best grape leaves I have ever had. Because we are not big eaters, we shared a sampler platter which was the perfect amount and very tasty. Service was quite friendly. Atmosphere is casual, clean and comfortable.

The gyro was almost oversized - lettuce and other toppings kept falling out on to the plate - that's not a complaint. Everything was fresh, service was very nice, good sized portions.

I lived in Santa Cruz for about 5 years and then moved away from the Bay Area. When I went back for a visit, I could only have one lunch in Santa Cruz. There was no doubt that Vasilli's was my top pick. It's not a fancy place, but it's cheerful with friendly servers. It's a good choice for family... More
