I wasn`t expecting to find a greek restaurant in a "surf" environment as Santa Cruz ... nor I was looking for . My wife spotted it as we passed by . We were already late for lunch and starving , and though it was past 3 pm , the waiter kindly invited us in . What a great suprise !... More

I ate the Wednesday chicken dinner special and was pleased with the delicate lemon flavor. I think it may be more suited to the lunch crowd, but we enjoyed a respite from rich foods and heavy sauces. Parking is very limited both on the property and public sites nearby. We were fortunate to find a spot, but the restaurant had... More

Lunch on our way up the coast. Good location - right off hwy 1 thru town, so an easy on-off stop. Casual local place. Veggie gyros, pork gyros, and vegetarian plate - all really good! Best part was the sauces - all tasted homemade and fresh. Would go back just for that!

Can warmly recommend this place for lunch. We passed by on our way to Monterey and stopped for late lunch. Delicious food and great service. Nice prices and even Greek beer. The feta-burger and Greek salad tasted Greece.

We were among the last customers of the day for this funky establishment and it was apparent that the staff wanted to leave. I understand things like that and am usually tolerant. My order was for a chicken dish and it tasted like it was days old. When I mentioned that I was met with a shrug of the shoulders.... More

Service was very good and we were well taken care of. The Greek coffee was really good and the gyro was good too, lots of flavor.

We needed to stop for lunch in Santa Cruz and just didn't feel like going down to our regular favorites...wanted to stay on Mission St. I've seen Vasili's a number of times, but this time we stopped. Excellent Greek food, great waitresses - no complaints!

After visiting the Begonia festival in Capitola, we were looking for a less crowded venue. Vasilis was on the way up Hwy 1 and looked like the likely place to go for lunch. Service was friendly and timely. We ordered a gyro and souvlaki. The souvlaki dish was delicious - chicken marinated in lemon, rice pilaf, pita bread, yogurt, and... More
