having never eaten here we were a little leary it could be a tourist trap type of joint but it wasn't. Lots of locals, view of the harbor and ocean, outside dining and a fairly diverse menu made this a great place for an evening meal. I had the skirt steak (seared on the outside and med rare on the... Great view, service was fantastic! The calamari is awesome! Pan sautéed instead of deep fried. We followed that up with a portobello burger that was as good as the appetizer.

This restaurant reminds me of The Chart House, great salad bar, those hot rolls, etc. The chef likes 'creamy sauces', reminds me of marsala though. I had CA Sea bass with a cream sauce that reminded me of marsala. A business associate had shrimp scampi and that same sauce was on it. They do have nightly 'specials' which are quite... More

Atmosphere was perfect. My filet mignon was charred and had fatty bits. Not much flavor and definitely not the mouth watering taste filet is expected to have. Vegetables of broccoli, squash and carrots are typical of the frozen food aisle meeting the microwave. Won't be eating here again, the food was mediocre.

As a long time patron of this restaurant, it is sad to see the quality of the food decline....the view and setting wonderful,,,,,food seems it has lost the attention to detail and the wonderful Calamari is now greasy,,,signature salad bar has less quality ingredients,,,,perhaps this is a result of an ownership change...Still a fun place but don't count on a... Not one to recommend particular meals for others but we had a group of 6 and all ordered different meals and sampled everything (we're a close group). The food was average to good from pasta to chops to fish to steak. The atmosphere and staff here are always very good as we have been here numerous times and never find... More

We were told they had the best Calamari and we wouldn't be disappointed. After eating lunch here and having 2 servings of Calamari, I agree. Why is it so good IMO? The Calamari was very lightly coated, delicious and very tender. The views are great from the patio as well. Great place to eat while in Santa Cruz!

My family and I visit Crow's Nest semi regularly mostly because of the terrific view and good vibe. We like to eat upstairs in the bar and in the nice weather the outside deck can't be beat for views of the harbor and beach. The food is good but not great, though the salad bar is terrific. Downstairs dining in... More

This is one of our hometown "go-to" places for special occasions, like entertaining out-of-town guests or an anniversary dinner. Right on the beach, next to the harbor entrance, there's always something interesting going on outside the windows. Food is very good--not gourmet but delicious. Upstairs has a busy bar with even better views. Probably eaten here 20 times and never... More
