Understanding that humans are omnivores and thus require both vegetation and meat is an important concept in basic biology.. I suppose that's why I avoided going here for so long after hearing about it when they first opened up. I was never into the whole all vegetarian thing. After some time passed and I kept hearing nothing but good things,... More

We ate here two nights running as the food was so good. I can't remember what I had but it involved peanuts, satay, vegetables , tofu and brown rice and was delicious. My husband had a tofu salad, which was also great. The local IPA beer was also delicious. All great value and very friendly service.

I lived in Santa Cruz in the 80's and used to go here a lot in the original location. The food was different, cheaper, and better back then. Now there are a lot of fake meat dishes and average salads. The Chocolate Madness, however, is as good as it ever was.

Being a vegetarian in Solano County has major disadvantages when you eat out. When we found the Saturn Cafe I was very excited! Once I opened the menu I was overwhelmed! I usually know what I want once I open a menu due to the limited selection. At the Saturn Cafe that was not the case! It took me forever... More

We had lunch here and came back the next day because it was just so incredibly good. The service was extremely friendly and the choice of food was excellent. We had a fantastic soup of the day on both occasions and also had a really good portobello burger; decent portions and all made from fresh, good ingredients. We gladly returned... More

This is like a 50's café. Food is good. The Chocolate Madness is wonderful if you still have room after eating. Or you can go there just for dessert. We have been here and have come back later for just dessert, since we were full from our meal.

Huge portions, tons of options.Giving up cheese is difficult, so many vegans opt out of Mexican food, giving this place a special WAHOO in my mind. They use Daiya brand cheese and a couple of their own.All super fresh, endless options, loved it!

A nice place to stop to eat after visiting the boardwalk & fairly reasonably priced. Recommend the onion strings and the burgers! The bathrooms were gender-neutral ("Robots" and "Zombies"), which I found very cool as I have never seen it at home.

Recommended by various vegetarian and vegan and gluten free Blogs as the best casual place to eat in Santa Cruz, I went here with expectations of having a reasonable lunch. I was not disappointed but neither was I pleasantly surprised. This is a no-frills experience; but what they do, they do well. My server was very helpful and explained that,... More

Enjoyed a nice meal with some local organic beers. Dinner meal of burgers, incredible salads that were delicious, had plant-based protein. The proprietary "Saturn Pattie" was tasty, good texture and seasoning. Saw some amazing-looking vegan milkshakes go by on the waitstaff tray: would have ordered one if not enjoying beer. Good vibes, fun decor, good music, environment good for everyone... More
