Last night took out of town, well-traveled friend to La Posta. We wanted to dinner and "catch-up" time to be "marvelous" and it was. LP has bistro flavor - neighborhood atmosphere. I had pasta, she and my husband had sole = perfection re: presentation and flavors; not a drop left on 3 dishes! I could eat a full plate of... More

Santa Cruz County does not have many good restaurants; I can count the really good ones on one hand. I am a terrible cook and when I go to most SC restaurants I always think their chefs are almost as bad as I am. La Posta is the one restaurant I really want to return to these days. The food... More

Good food. Can't say they handle wine very well. It shows the servers are not trained in how to decant wine. Especially, older wines you bring in. For food, they might be one of the better restaurants in Santa Cruz and value.

We had never been here and made reservations for Valentine's about a month ahead of time. We were looking forward to trying things on the menu but about 4 days before we left we received a message that the menu had been changed to a prix fix. That was a little disappointing and quite a bit more expensive than what... More

We tried La Posta again last year after a bad experience a few years ago and had several reasonably good meals there before this evening. Our experience there tonight, however, has turned us away for good. This is a shame, as we live quite close by and eat out enough that we are bored with most restaurants that we like... More

We had no expectation for a good dining experience, let alone a gourmet one - however, this exceeded our expectations. We shared a Brussels sprout salad (a recent common offering at many restaurants) which was delicious and followed that with a "Amatriciana" wood fired pizza. Both were well prepared, unique and tasty. Home made bread with a "good" (yes, Ina... More

We've enjoyed dining at this Seabright neighborhood restaurant in Santa Cruz before and like many of the reviews state, the restaurant is generally very good, but this time our male waiter (id #1) was a bit lacking in service. Specifically, he neglected to ask if anyone at the table wanted drinks and when one person ordered a drink, he didn't... More

A great place, warm and inviting on a rainy night. Live music is cheerful and not obtrusive. There is a small bar which aids the ambiance. Interior design is simple, with warm colors, high ceilings. Not too noisy, just the right level. Service is prompt and friendly. I will definitely come back.

This is a popular local spot. You need a reservation. We travel often to the area and quite enjoyed our meal here. The menu has some creativity in it, which was nice. Food was tasty and timed well. Service friendly. It is a casual spot full of noise and energy.

We have been fans of La Posta since it opened and really liked the original chef and the Sunday night specials. We have missed the original chef--but our last few visits have been outstanding! Great service--creative italian meals--scrumptious! Can't beat the homemade breads--especially brown bread. House red wine makes a more affordable meal. One of our favorite Santa Cruz restaurants.
