Description: Our second restaurant, opened in 1979 in the heart of the Silicon Valley, has been as popular with local residents as it has with the business crowd. A comfortable and spacious cocktail bar adds to the energetic atmosphere of this casual dining restaurant. Be sure to arrive early for the counter seats at the oyster bar, as they fill up quickly.

Two friends and I went for dinner. We had reservations and were promply seated by a friendly hostess. The menu was substantial and the server kept checking back appropriately until we had stopped talking long enough to decide upon our order. A full bar was available which made the quite short wait for food pass quickly. I had cioppino--to die... More

I really wanted to like this place, I was excited about going here. I was not disappointed. The menu had many choices, the fish was really fresh. Appetizers were great. A good beer selection. Our waiter was not very good but he seemed to be the exception, other servers seemed to be on top of things. If I'm in town... More

The ambience is very nice, it really reminds of a fish market (without the smell=). The selection is good, menus are printed daily. Food was really good, fish is fresh. Not too much options for vegetarians.

We have eaten at this restaurant many times and will many more. It offers really good seafood in a very casual dining setting. The ambiance is fully described by the restaurant name - fish market with nautical wall hangings. At the front is an oyster bar, a lounge/bar, and a refrigerated case displaying fresh and smoked sea food, which can... More

I have eaten here for years and keep coming back because of the very good food and nice people. The atmosphere is casual but friendly. You can get a table, or sit at the seafood bar and have almost anything you can imagine made-to-order for you. They have ever-changing varieties of fresh fish and shellfish, and the sourdough french bread... More

Fresh seafood in a cosy fish-market-environment! I ate bay shrimp ceasar salad and it was tasty, but not gorgeous. I think they can put a little more spice & finess into the dishes.

Overall, the atmosphere was inviting and a good place for any type of group looking to dine. Some of the food was excellent while some of the other plates were somewhat cold or overcooked. The restaurant is a very popular dining location so reservations are definitely a good idea to avoid an hour wait time to get a table. In... More

We were in heaven finding The Fish Market after the disappointing experience at Fishermans Warf the day before. Everything we ate was excellent. The oysters rockafeller where some of the best ever. I was able to get steamed oysters ( which I have a very hard time finding) loved them. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his Cajun prawns and the steamed... More

Very wide selection of fish & shell fish. Steamed clams & muscles are great. The selection of crab dishes is great & the fresh dungeness crab is outstanding. Eating seafood here is as good as it gets.

You honestly can't have a bad meal at The Fish Market, or poor service. If you tell me you have, I simply won't believe you. My boyfriend and I have eaten at this restaurant probably 25+ times, in several locations, and it has been a consistent positive experience each and every time. Nice atmosphere too, although we especially like the... More
