Attentive service. A raw bar that includes fresh crab, oysters and lobster. If you can't eat a whole filet steak share the "steak bites" with a trio of sauces. The clam chowder is delicious and only $5 a cup. Mini desserts like key lime pie, Oreo cheesecake and even a mini creme brûlée. Service is attentive, and they don't bar... More

Had lunch at Birk's, hadn't been there in a while. Started with oysters on the half shell, nice mignonette, very fresh and very well presented (on ice, oyster liquor in the shell). Not many places where you can get this quality of oysters on the peninsula. Grilled sashimi appetizer was ok, they cut the tuna in a strange, thin but... More

The steak was excellent, they have various menu you can choose from. I especially loved the wine, there were some very rare one you can enjoy. The price was expensive including the chips but still worth to try. Definitely the best steak house in valley.

This is the long-standing, centrally located restaurant right off 101 and Great America Pkwy. This is the place to go if you have formal business meetings or clients to meet. It is a bit busy and can be noisy but still good food and location. Definitely DO make a reservation. Also, if you can, try to either go before noon... More

I can't say enough positive things about my dining experience here. If you like meat the quality here is the absolute best and the serving is huge. The salads are wonderfully prepared with a first rate presentation. Cocktails huge and beautifully presented. I wish I could dine here once a week. Enjoy!

I have gone to Birks for 5 years and its steadily getting worse. The menu is all new leaving you with no sides choices. They dropped my favorite wedge salad but the alternatives are good. my main beef (pun) is that we ordered medium and medium well steaks and got two rare steaks. Sigh. Grill chef is an idiot. Birks... If you are a frequent reader of my reviews you will notice that I always talk about the balance and the combination of values because simply great food won't make a star in my books. No question about that the food was good but the noise level was way to high and it was very difficult to have a decent... More

In San Jose for business. Asked hotel concierge for advise for steak house. Recommended Birk's and told to expect to spend extra but worth it. Food was awesome. Great cut of beef and cooked to perfection. Crab cakes were definitely a hit along with calamari.

All around very disapointing. Go anywhere but Birks. Sat us in the worst table in the restaurant even though others were available. Waiter was condescending. Food over spiced & heavy.

I've been coming to the Bay area on business for 30 years and Birk's has been there for 25 of them. I get to Birk's as often as I can as I enjoy the high quality experience. I usually sit at the bar when dining solo and have met some very interesting folks there. The food is expensive but worth... More
