Give it 5 of 5. Was traveling on business and showed up here for a late lunch. What I liked: 1. Dora, my waitress was patient, smiling, and helpful as I asked her many questions about the menu. 2. Chicken enchilada, frijoles, and carnitas en tamal (chunks of tender pork in a tamale)—sooooo good and hot. Just the right amount... More

The serving size was decent and food wasn't bad at all. Service was good and the waiter was attentive.

El Torito is another of those innumerable Mexican food chain restaurants, similar to Chevy's and Pedros. In fact Pedros is just across highway 101 next to Great America. El Torito is in a high tech industrial park section of Santa Clara, within one block of highway 101 south. We came here on a Saturday, armed with a $10 coupon toward... More

Hungry and too tired to drive far so we came here. Clean interior with murals and framed photos. My Chicken tortilla soup was almost bland in taste and temp. Lots of chicken and veggies in lukewarm broth. The tamale enchilada plate was nothing noteworthy. Not a bad dinner but nothing to recommend a return visit. The second glass of iced... More

We went here with work friends and had a good time - enjoyed their enchiladas. Free parking in lot by restaurant - close to 101 (about 2 minute drive away). Nice and friendly service.

After seeing a few of these during our trip through California, we decided to give this one a try. It was good. Our waiter was excellent! The food came quickly and it was very good. Would dude finitely return.

My solo dinner at El Torito was exactly what I was looking for. The service was great and and the food came quickly. I had a fajita combo that came with a cheese enchilada - the fajitas were delicious, particularly the peppers and onions, and the sides were great (guacamole and their special corn cake that is like a dessert).... Great food with nice selection, nice ambiance, reasonable prices and good service. I'm not the biggest fan of Mexican food, but I thought theirs was particularly good.

They look to be hurting for business. We went on a Saturday night at 7:00pm and it was very quiet. Food was a little cold for my liking. My teenagers had nachos and the cheese was not melted. The salad should not be charged extra, in my opinion.

Go here if you want a fix of Mexican food and like large portions. Friendly waitress, fast service, good margaritas. A good option for this part of town.
