I get it, it is busy because you are serving excellent food, but don't let your customers wait outside on the pavement, in the californian sun, with no complimentary refreshments. After waiting for 45-60 minutes, we got seated. The food was there quick and it was excellent! The taste was very good and the waiters were very friendly. They serve... More

Hidden gem. No special atmosphere - but the food is excellent and affordable. No reservations so get there early and put your name down. Line moves fairly rapidly. This is def a place you have to have heard about from a local. Stick with the ramen - it's what they are known for. Very filling too!

Ramen will never taste the same after you have tried the Orenchi ramen. I've tried so many ramen places in Orange County and they are not as satisfying. This is my go-to place whenever I'm in San Jose.

I have been in this restaurant few times. Attached pictures are my favor dishes. If you have chance travel to near by here, and you have to try it. Just be aware the waiting time, normally it will take 45mins.

Ramen is so subjective as with any food. There are basically 3 broths to choose from with slightly different toppings in each: tonkatsu, shoyu and salt. So choose accordingly, or add/omit depending on your taste. Maybe, just maybe, they might adopt the system in Japan in which you can enter your selections to customize your bowl of hot scrumptiousness. The... More

Second visit to Orenchi. First time was dinner and this one for lunch. I was surprised to see so many people waiting at the door for it to open for lunch. We were number 47. Definitely one of the best ramen houses anywhere.

I like ramen. I try to find the best one every time I visit japan. I have high expectations given the line here, but it's a bit disappointing. The appetizers were mediocre, and the ramen soup base was only warm. Otherwise it's one of the better ramen in Bay area. Good meal, but not worth one hour wait.

On yelp, this place is rated #1. Ramen is good but not worth waiting 2 hours for, I don't care how perfect the soft boiled egg is. Been here a number of times since I live nearby, but after the last experience, no more. Other items on the menu isn't worth mentioning. And they should clean their plastic cups better.... More

I've had the Orenchi ramen twice. The ramen here is definitely much better than your typical Japanese place, but it's not mind blowing. The egg, however, is definitely mind blowing. Each bite of the medium rare egg sends a warm sensation to my stomach. The liquid egg yolk is sensational, even transcendental. Ramen noodles are a little tough. Broth is... More

Cold days make me crave a good bowl of Ramen and we'd heard this was the best in the area. When we arrived at 8pm there were a lot of people waiting for a table, a good sign. We put our names on the list and we're ordering by 8:30. The Orenchi Tonkotsu was very good, the noodles had the... More
