Hole in the great wall

We accidentally found this place while driving through Santa Barbara. Our first choice was jammed and forced us to look for alternates. As we were driving back to 101, we found this place. The place is a hole in the wall, but it is clean. The food came pretty fast and it was delicious. The fish... read more

My sister took us here and there was a line down the block. Everything was tasty and worth the wait.

This place is very clean, really good food and delicious! Made to order and the staff is very friendly and helpful. If you are visiting Santa Barbara this is the place to get the best Mexican food.

Great family run shop. Friendly fast and cheap. The carne asada is cooking with the pico de gallo to perfection. A lot of care goes into every bite.

Sorry Julia Childs, but based on my many experiences at both places El Bajio is the place to have Mexican taqueria food, not La Super Rica in Santa Barbara. LSR used to be quite good, and the line to get in used to be much longer, but the quality of food at LSR has slipped as badly as landslides along... More

Fantastic quality Mexican food cooked as it should be. Good assortment of tacos, gorditas, authentic soups, and more. Great salsa options with additional condiments. We had the Asada and beef Gorditas and they were fantastic. My crew could eat lunch here every day. The place is small so be prepared to take it with you if it is busy. Enjoy.

I had friend in SB introduce me to this gem a couple of years ago. And now every time I come to town I always eat here. Personal favorite is the crispy taco plate. You get three tacos, rice and beans. Always super friendly service, but small area for seating. Always a packed house.

Drove any hour today to go to my favorite watering hole La Superica. UGH, it's closed on Tuesday and Wednesdays folks. Anyway, I Googled "alternative to La Superica" and Taqueria El Bajio came up. We were excited to find a great new dining experience. Boy were we disappointed. First, it was expensive. $3 for ONE taco. Second,, the meat was... More

Surprised that this isn't rated higher among SB eateries. Ate here twice on a recent trip, and we loved everything we had. Tacos dorados were delish, as were gorditas and caldo de pescado.
